'American Idol': Jennifer Lopez reportedly re-signs for huge payday

"American Idol" judge Jennifer Lopez, the only one of the three from Season 10 who is still up in the air, has reportedly negotiated a major payday to return to the singing competition show for the 11th season, according to The Wrap.There are reportedly two sources close to the deal that say J.Lo will be doing at least one more year of "American Idol" for a $20 million paycheck. The deal is not signed yet, but the sources say it is finalized. The only thing left to work out is the schedule, as Lopez has a movie filming ("Parker") and a movie coming out ("What to Expect When You're Expecting") in the spring of 2012. And of course, another insider says the deal is nowhere near done. So ... we're back to the "Idol" judges merry-go-round for at least a little while. But Randy and Steven are coming back.

I have to say at the beginning of last season I had my doubts about how her and Steven Tyler but after watching AI I thought she did pretty good and the chemistry between her and the other two seemed great. I say bring her back. If she can get 20 mil, more power to her, the show is raking in the dough anyway.
I agree with Jim, more power to her. I enjoyed her as a judge but also agree that both she and Steven need to be tougher. Take a page from the judges on So You Think You Can Dance and I hope they improve the voting methods.

She's overpriced and overrated. Tyler is entertaining but rarely criticizes. Randy is Randy. We need a third judge more like Simon. I'd replace Lopez with a REAL singer or record producer.
She should not come back until she learns how to judge effectively. You can't only criticize the talented singers because your expectations are higher; it alters audience perception.
Maybe she should only do the talent scouting rounds. Not for that kind of cash though. AI should conserve, since it's likely to be smacked down by The Voice.
She was an enjoyable addition to AI but no one should get that ridiculous amount of money to judge a show.
The Finale Booty Quake on Idol was worth every penny.
