'All My Children' star Jacob Young returns to 'The Bold and the Beautiful'
The uncertainty over which "All My Children" stars plan to make the transition with the show when it goes online is starting to clear up. And one familiar face not heading to the show's new iteration is JR Chandler #6, Jacob Young.
As first reported by TVGuide, Young will return to "The Bold and the Beautiful" upon the conclusion of "AMC's" run on ABC.
His first episode back as fashion-industry heir Rick Forrester, which he played from 1997 to 1999, airs Sept. 26, just days after the "AMC" finale.
"When I started talking to 'B&B' I didn't think it would happen so fast," he tells the magazine, "I was looking forward to wrapping up 'AMC' and having a bit of a hiatus, maybe a month or two to travel with my family. As it turns out, I'll probably have my AMC and B&B schedules overlapping and be shooting both shows at the same time."
JR Chandler has long been a pivotal character on "AMC." If and when the show starts back up online, do you think he'll be recast?

If JR is bowing out may it be w/ Annie. I do not want a recast. AMC online can just focus on the Cortlandts, but leave the Chandlers out of it.
No recast please ... let JR leave Pine Valley ... Jacob is JR forever ...
How about WE wait and see what happens when Prospect Park gets AMC & OLTL on-line/cable. No Need to PANIC! Let's be THANKFUL that they are doing this!! Give them TIME to CUT through all of the RED TAPE (Unions, ETC) and then they can negotiate with actors/actresses. B&B is a 30 minute show. They can put Jacob Young as Rick, but they have a problem giving air time with half the time of the other soaps... We have to wait & see what happens. I am not a re-cast lover, but remember Kendall was played by Sarah Michele-Gellar and now even SHE sees her re-cast as "KENDALL"
WAIT & SEE AND DON'T PANIC!
Robin
@Robin ... Alicia Minshew IS Kendall ... as you say even SMG sees that ... Alicia took the role and made it her own as Jacob has done with JR ...
He bores me anyway.
(Groan!) Just when I was starting to enjoy B&B again.... :-(
I personally will cancel my cable service when All my Children leaves the air. Its the only reason that I have kept cable for so many years. If the new internet version of AMC requires a subscription I will be happy to pay it. ABC is foolish to replace a long standing show with the likes of another cooking show. I don't know any AMC fans who will be happy with the replacement.
