Alec Baldwin, Melissa McCarthy hosting 'Saturday Night Live,' somewhere Steve Martin clenches fists

There are few things we enjoy more than a sarcastic rivalry between celebrity friends.

And Lorne Michaels' recent announcement that Alec Baldwin will host "Saturday Night Live" for a record-breaking 16th time during its Season 37 premiere should fuel the fire between Baldwin and 15-time host Steve Martin.

As the New York Times was first to report, Baldwin -- who may or may not stay on "30 Rock" which may or may not go on past Season 6 -- will return to Studio 8H on Sept. 24. Expect Martin to leave part of that weekend open to crash his monologue or at least send a snide, pre-taped greeting.

Another host locked in for "SNL" is "Mike & Molly" star Melissa McCarthy. Fresh off her breakout performance in "Bridesmaids," McCarthy's hosting gig will see her reunited with co-star Kristen Wiig. This will be McCarthy's first appearance on the series.

I like Alec, especially when he hosts SNL, but would love to see Brian Williams host again.

Hey Lorne! Try to get Mila Kunis to host SNL.

For musical guest how about Colbie Caillat.

I would like to see Gordon Ramsey host the show ... because he would give the censors a real workout !!! I crack up watching his shows on Fox and BBC America...
