'Two and a Half Men': Oddsmakers set line for Charlie Sheen's demise

charlie-sheen-gi-vertical.jpgCharlie Sheen was given the heave-ho from "Two and a Half Men" in March just days after calling the show's co-creator Chuck Lorre a "maggot" and a "stupid, stupid little man" among other pleasantries. With the start of the new season less than two months away, it's Lorre's chance to get even with his former employee -- and it appears oddsmakers are looking forward to it too.

Paddy Power, Ireland's biggest bookmaker, has set the line on how they think Charlie Harper will be written off the show. The odds-on favorite has Charlie driving his car off a cliff, delivering an almost even-money payoff of 11:10. The possible calamity offers more than just a wink and a nod to Sheen's 2010 automotive troubles, when not one, but two, of his cars were stolen and then driven off Mulholland Drive in the Hollywood Hills. The long shot, paying 250:1, has Charlie eloping with Berta, the sassy housekeeper. However, that seems like a really bad bet, considering Conchata Ferrell is still a series regular.

Following is a full listing of the odds from Paddy Power:

Drives his car off a cliff - 11:10
Leaves via airport with Rose (Melanie Lynskey) - 5:4
Gets shot in a crime of passion - 3:1
By accidental poisoning - 6:1
Plane crash - 12:1
Gets hit by lightning - 14:1
Surfing accident - 20:1
Jail sentence - 25:1
Joins a monastery - 50:1
Taken into the Witness Protection Program - 50:1
Gets lost at sea - 66:1
A piano falls on him - 200:1
Elopes with Berta - 250:1

We'll find out what happens to Charlie in the Sept. 19 premiere of "Two and a Half Men." What are you most likely to bet on?

Charlie leaving with Rose seems most likely to me, it makes sense with how his character left last season and leaves open the possibility of him coming back in the future if he and Lorre ever patch things up.

Sheen has burned the bridge and Lorre has put up an exit sign leading off the cliff before the bridge. In a DWI stupor Charlie takes the exit, his last smiling thought is "Ha! I didn't drive off my burned bridge!"

just bring charlie back the show will suck without him
he made the show what it is
its like haveing hawkeye not on mash or andy griffith not on the andy griffith show
like no ellen on the ellen show like oprah not on the oprah show
now it will be one and a half men and a ******

I just saw a rerun with Berta and a new maid talking about the color of his urine, saying he'd be dead in no time - and there's your answer!

I have been a faithful watcher since the show began! I love it! It comes on 3 times a day where I live and my husband and I watch it every time. It is one of those shows that we can watch over and over! But I am sad to say, I will not be watching when it returns! I don't think it's because Charlie is gone, because I love everyone on the show, I would have watched if they would have sent Charlie to rehab or something, but if they kill him off and put Ashton in to take up the slack, It will just not work. The others could have carried the show just fine without adding him. I don't think he fits! Either suck it up and get charlie back (smart move) or send him to rehab and carry on with out him! For God's sake don't ruin the show by adding someone new and killing charlie! The show will die if you do this! Soooo Sad!!!

Sitcoms don't come back from deaths, they die themselves! Send him off with Rose or to rehab. Death is to sad for sitcoms, it will never bounce back!

Incredibly misleading headline...it says the oddsmakers are betting the actor will die.

Why did the most obvious possibility not make the list...alcohol poisoning?

I actually started watching the show because of the kid - not because of Charlie Sheen or Jon Cryer. That kid is a better actor than Charlie Sheen is! Charlie has always been a bit boring to me. I don't really care whether he's there or not. But, after the horrible things he's done to the women in his life, I don't think he deserves to be on the show. The courts may not have done anything to him but, what goes around comes around - eventually.

Oh, and his character should go to jail. That would be fitting.

Possibilities Endless
with or without Charlie, better with Charlie,, but life goes on .. and Charlie isn't bitter. .

Best Of Life To Them All !!!
