TNT cancels 'Men of a Certain Age' after two seasons
"Men of a Certain Age" won't be getting any older at TNT.The cable channel announced Friday (July 15) that it's canceling the series, which has earned two Emmy nominations for Andre Braugher but didn't attract a big enough audience to keep it on the air.
"TNT has been proud to be a part of 'Men of a Certain Age' for two seasons," TNT says in a statement. "While the show has featured great storytelling and impeccable performances, the audience simply hasn't built to the point where we can continue the series. This was an extremely difficult decision for us. We wish [co-creator/star] Ray Romano, [co-creator] Mike Royce and the terrific cast and crew of 'Men of a Certain Age' the very best and look forward to exploring new programming possibilities in the future."
"Men of a Certain Age's" season finale on July 6 averaged 1.8 million viewers, which was a bit of an improvement over prior episodes but was still well below the numbers for TNT's other original series. Braugher picked up his second straight Emmy nomination for his role as Owen on Thursday, but that and a set of pleas from prominent critics in the past week weren't enough to keep the show alive.

WHAT??!! I LOVE this show! Bring it back! The acting was wonderful and the storylines realistic. It's like Parenthood--but guy-centric. Good writing, too. I'm mad (and sad).
I'm disappointed, but happy about the way the season/series ended.
The good news is that Scott Backula can return to "Chuck".
Dang it. I'm so sick of all the good stuff not getting audiences (and getting canceled) while the lowest-common-denominator crap rules the airwaves.
And just like Arrested Development, another great show is cancelled. I mean obviously this show doesn't have the same following, but come on! Men of a Certain Age is/was a great show. Great writing, great performances. It's like if you don't have 3.5 million viewers, you get cancelled. Bad move to those that respect the craft of writing.
Maybe Ray Romano can still apply for "The Office".
Very, very sad news. This show was so quietly wonderful that I really couldn't wait each week for it.
I'm really disappointed.
This was expected. . . I watch many shows on TNT, this one just couldn't capture my attention. Hawthorne is next
Please, keep this wonderful show. It is one of the few programs on TV I actually watch. Give it one more opportnity.
My wife and I were heartbroken over the loss of our favorite show.
