'The X Factor' sneak peek: 'American Idol' gets roasted

GoogleDuring the 2011 All-Star Game on FOX, Simon Cowell's new reality singing competition "The X Factor" aired its first sneak peek look. The clip shows a young girl named Lillianne entering into an audition room that could've been an "Idol" audition room.
Lillianne busts out a terrible version of "Tomorrow" in front of the four judges, Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid. Afterwards, the judges praise her spirit, Paula kisses Simon on the cheek and then he glad-hands a press line, saying, "My attitude this year? Helping others make a better tomorrow."
And more singers bust out "Tomorrow" as Simon ... wakes up from this horrible nightmare, then drives a sportscar, picks up the other judges departing a plane and they all strut in slow motion, plus clips of the auditions as the electric guitar of "Live and Let Die" wails.
What do you think, "X Factor" fans? Excited? Also - did you like the thinly-veiled jab at the audition rounds of "American Idol"? Was the "spirit" remark a jab at J.Lo?
"The X Factor" premieres in September on FOX.

I smell EPIC FAIL for X FACTOR. Think I'll pass because this season alone they have way too many singing competitions. Ask THE SING OFF or THE VOICE.
It roasts American Idol because the audition room it set up like their rooms? That doesn't even make sense, let alone that The X-Factor's audition rooms could look like that, especially considering that the two shows are quite similar.
I knew this was written by Andrea Reiher after reading the content. How the hell does she keep her job without thinking?

I'm gonna be watching. Idol has sucked for a while now esp without Simon and Paula so I'll watch anything with them together. The Voice is better than Idol too. And Simon doesn't suck - he's not afraid to tell the truth. Plus he always says what I'm thinking while judging contestants.
