'The Closer': Get ready for Kyra Sedgwick's farewell season as Brenda Johnson
"The Closer" begins its seventh and final season Monday, July 11. And though the top-rated TNT drama will be spreading the last 21 episodes out over a yet-to-be-revealed period of time, there's a note of finality in the latest promo.
Entering a crime scene like an old Hollywood starlet, Brenda (Kyra Sedgwick) walks past co-stars while an exceptionally sexy cover of The Temptations "Get Ready" plays in the background.
There's even a nod to Brenda's sweet tooth. Next to the dead body by the pool sits a partially eaten Ding Dong the detective slides into her purse -- for evidence, clearly.

The Closer has been such good entertainment over the years-didnt realize this was the last season. TNT has some really good shows--is Psych returning? the Closer will be missed

don't like the tease of brenda being on the firing line. not happy at all.
I really hope with the "major crimes" spin off show, they have "the closer" cast pop in and out or stay on for the inevitable "staff change" that will happen next year.

Who sing's the song "Get Ready"? I know it's not the temptations, is it what album is it on?
It's Mozella singing the version by the temptations and it's called get ready and it's awesome!

Love The Closer. Won't be watching the spin off with Mary Mcdonnel. I don't care for her that much in this show. She will be a poor sub for Brenda!!!! I love all the other characters. Even butt kissing Taylor. Sorry to see it go.
I don't understand how one person can decide to end a show. Did she ever consider the other actors when she made her decision? This show will be greatly missed but I'm very disappointed in Kyra Sedgwich.
