Ted Danson to replace Laurence Fishburne on 'CSI'
It's time to meet the new boss.
"Damages" and "Cheers" star Ted Danson is set to return to broadcast TV as the new supervisor on "CSI" when it returns for its twelfth season. Danson is filling the void left by the departure of Laurence Fishburne.
Danson will play the new supervisor for the grave shift after heading the crime lab in Portland. His character comes to the team as they are still dealing with the professional and personal fallout from last season's take-down of serial killer, Nate Haskell.
"You can create a new character on the page, but until the perfect actor comes along and breathes life into it, it's just words," executive producer Carol Mendelsohn says. "We're very excited Ted Danson came long."
Executive producer Don McGill adds, "From the moment we all started talking about the role, it was clear he couldn't be more perfect. Intelligence, wit, warmth, depth of character and emotion, he brings it all. And now he'll have to bring latex gloves, too."
Fans of "Bored to Death" can breathe a sigh of relief as Danson will remain a series regular on the HBO series.
Ted Danson will make his "CSI" debut on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
