Nancy Grace's coverage of Casey Anthony trial delivers best ratings in HLN history
The devil isn't the only one dancing. HLN's coverage of the Casey Anthony trial, driven in large part by host Nancy Grace, delivered the network its highest ratings in its 29 years on the air.
Between the hours of 2:00 p.m and 3:00 p.m. ET on July 5, while the surprising "not guilty" verdict was read aloud to Anthony, HLN averaged 4.6 million viewers. At the high point of the proceedings, the audience reached 5.2 million viewers, 1.9 million of which fell into the key demographic of 25-54-year-olds.
The network's coverage of the murder trial left all other competition in the dust. FOX News' coverage of the verdict came in second with 2.9 million viewers, while CNN (2.3 million) and MSNBC (920,000) brought up the rear.
Grace's primetime series also performed well, delivering its highest ratings in total viewers and the demo for the July 5 broadcast, bringing in 2.9 million and 1.3 million viewers, respectively. That's what we'd call a silver lining.

Despite wanting to follow the trial I could not watch Nancy Grace. Faux concern for Caylee turns to snarls on a dime. Ratings for HLN were DESPITE Nancy Grace, Jane Velez-Mitchell and Joy Behar. If they ever want credibility they need to replace these freak shows with a host like Ryan Smith from Court TV.
Disgraceful verdict. The angered public should give Casey an old fashioned stoning in the courtyard Thursday. If not possible please sterilize the slut so she can't reproduce and never kill another precious child. Caylee was so lovable and she did not deserve to be treated so horrible. We loved her.
Nancy Grace is the most irritating cow on television. Pompous, arrogant ***.
Too bad they didn't find Casey guilty but if Nancy Grace had been the prosecuter, I am sure she would have gotten justice for Caylee. I am sure the ratings would go thru the roof for a public hanging of that murderous witch who will probably hit the talk show circuit betwwen looking for Caylee's killer on the golf course with OJ !!!
Nancy Dis-Grace or Hack Pros (short for Hack Prosecutor) has presided over a Kangaroo Court for three years. Has she even read the Constitution?
I thought Nancy Grace's coverage of this slut in action 3 yrs ago was damning. Anyone watching this in the beginning should have been convinced of her guilt. I love Nancy Grace and do wish it were her judging this case. The borrowing a shovel, decomposing smell in car, careless attitude and not reporting it to police are 3 indicators it was her.
Nancy and all of the other media rats make me sick....these media people are just in for their ratings/bucks, creating hate, blaming everyone, the jury, the defense, the judge, the grandma that lives next door..when will this end???! the jury make their decision, its over period!!! ..so as I flip the bird to nancy and all the rest of the clowns in the media, have a good night. Tomorrow is another day for another character assassination...

Honor her Grace by calling her by her right name : I wish Nancy Grace would learn to pronounce Caylee’s name. It’s been three-plus years and she’s still calling her “Kailey,” a combination of Kelly, Kale-ee, and Kire-lee. Honor her It's Caylee!! sleep with the angels Caylee!
What I really don't like about this case is that Nancy Grace convicted her on the media before the real trial started. You should be ashamed of yourself Nancy. Inoccent till proven guilty By trial with jury ! She was not found guilty. Now Nancy lets help find the real killer. I have esp and I know it was not her mother.
