'Lost' returns to Comic-Con: Maybe they really did have a plan

Depending on how much you've let go of your feelings about the "Lost" series finale, the video above will either give you a nice chuckle or make you frustrated all over again.

We're in the former camp. "Lost" executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse made a return trip to Comic-Con Friday (July 22), surprising fans at a "one year later" panel (Hitfix has a good account of all the Darlton shenanigans). They eventually screened the "deleted scene" above, a winking acknowledgment of the oft-aired criticism that they were making up the show as they went along.

Among the revelations in the scene: The Man in Black's actual name is Barry.

The new footage, intercut with a scene from the Season 1 finale, was shot earlier this summer by primary "Lost" director Jack Bender, with Mark Pellegrino and Titus Welliver agreeing to reprise their roles as Jacob and, uh, Barry.

So what do you think? Too soon, or just a bit of fun?

Genius.

I LOVE IT!! I still miss Lost.

wow ... maybe it was a joke ...i realized that when it got to the "brotherly" bickering ... good job..

I would have said that is poorly written even if it was written by amateurs.

Oh wait, it was. ("Mommy, we have to put lots of actors and crew out of business because we can't come up with more ideas or let others take over!")

I miss the real LOST (the first two seasons) (and most of the third season, exclusive of certain things such as "Expose" and the flashbacks in "Stranger in a Strange Land" and Charlie's pseudo-suicide) more than anybody. But I don't miss the kind of stuff this clip reminds me of (and is).

Love it! Definitely made me laugh!

Excellent. Almost makes up for the final season.

It made me laugh, but I am just still so angry for the cop-out series ender. Plus in the typical "Lost" way we have all come to know and hate, they made another lame mistake, last year they told us that the "Man in Blacks" real name was Samuel...but now we are now suppose to believe it's Barry....so dumb

Okay, I apologize, my previous comment was a bit over-the-top. After all, the fourth, fifth, and even sixth seasons did contain a lot of good stuff. But they also contained a lot of bad stuff, and the "found footage" reminded me so much of that and I momentarily lost control.

That was funny, reminded me of a sitcom skit. I would show this to someone who had never seen lost just to some levity

I'm from the frustrated by the series finale camp, but I did find this scene funny. Thanks.
