Jennifer Lopez close to 'American Idol' Season 11 deal - report
If there was a linchpin in the revamped "American Idol" Season 10 judges panel, it was almost certainly Jennifer Lopez.
The actress, pop star and veritable brand name seemed to have her fame buoyed by joining the nation's top-rated show -- but there have been months of speculation as to whether or not she would return for another season.
Now, the Wall Street Journal reports that the final details of her return are being hammered out. Citing "people familiar with the talks," Lopez and FOX are reportedly near a deal for her to be on at least one more season.
"Idol" producers FremantleMedia North America, FOX and representatives from Lopez have all declined to comment on the negotiations, but her previous contract (which gave her an estimated $12 million) expired in May.
With NBC's freshman competition "The Voice" debuting to a strong audience, and Simon Cowell's American "X Factor" arriving this fall season, "American Idol" is at a bit of a crossroads. And may posit that it would be most advantageous to keep Lopez on after losing three of its judges over the last few seasons.
Fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler are already both set to return.

Hire someone else that can actually judge and save some money. If last year proved anything it would be that people will watch the show no matter who the judges are.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That's all I have to say about Lopez returning.
