'House' Season 8: Jesse Spencer to return
He's coming back! With a tan! We approve!After weeks of negotiations, Jesse Spencer has signed a new deal to return to "House" for the FOX medical drama's eighth season. TVGuide reports he will return as a series regular. The actor has played Dr. Robert Chase for seven seasons.
Spencer broke the news himself on Twitter after spending the day surfing in Newport Beach, Calif., tweeting, "I'm coming back for Season 8 with a tan and a busted [surf]board."
Lisa Edelstein will not be returning for Season 8 and it's not yet known if Olivia Wilde will return for the show's possible final season.
"House" returns Monday, Oct. 3, at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.

Good news. I hope Cuddy's departure opens the door for new storylines. I like House but it is formulaic to say the least.
Been watching House since the first episode, but many of this past season's episodes rank among the all time worst. Will miss Lisa Edelstein's Cuddy but can't stand Olivia Wilde.. Amber Tamblyn was such a huge improvement. Here's hoping Wilde hits the bricks for the upcoming season...
I would rather see Olivia return than Jesse.
never liked the characer of chase.for thought he was a little more aggorant version of house for was thinking that maybe Jesse decided to move on after seven seasons. Lisa sad to see her leave for her and house could have tried to work things out. and i am hoping thirteen returns for she was one of the few characters who would give house his own crap back.
So glad Jesse is back for S8 .Now I'll give the show another chance.I really hate 13's character & I really don't like Olivia Wilde & her poor acting range & mask face.I wish she won't be back for S8 . I wish they bring another actress that can actually convince me that she is a doctor & can act especially infront of Hugh Laurie.
I so agree with Mark. I'm glad Jesse is back because if he didn't return, there was nothing left for me that would have kept me interested. I hope the writers can re-vive the great dynamic that Chase has had with House and get rid off the intolerable Mary Sue-character of Thirteen. She really sucks the life out of every scene and just adds nothing to the show but -geez!- uberhotness. Jesse Spencer, OTOH, can actually act and made Chase an endearing character even though he could easily have been the opposite. It's great to have him back, but it would be even greater if Thirteen would die in the season opener.
I a big fan of House, but I don't think I'll continue to be if Thirteen won't come back... I'm gonna be just a fan
Thirteen is one of the best characters and we saw that the team can't work without her! but without Chase? Yes! the team CAN work!
(although I want them both because somethink's goin' on between them and I really want this to lead somewhere...)

I love Olivia Wilde and think shes an incredible actress. I dont think shes gotten where she is because of a poor acting range & mask face. Cant wait to go see Cowboys and Aliens on Friday!!! I would be so sad if Thirteen wasnt a part of season 8. But if I got to see her in more feature films it might make up for the fact. As for Chase being in season 8, I realy dont care. Dana your right, Olivia Wilde does add uberhotness to the show which is just one of the reasons shes one of my favorite actresses. I love the concept of her character and that the writers can be realy creative in Thirteens script. She adds a lot of drama to House and I think that shes a relatable character.
The show is nothing without house and cuddy, now that i know she won't be back for season 8 there is no reason to watch the show anymore!
