'Hawaii Five-0' adds Lauren German to the team

A CBS rep confirms to Zap2it that Lauren German ("Happy Town," "Hostel: Part II") will have a recurring part on the show's upcoming season as a former Homeland Security officer who joins McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and Co. on the Five-0 squad.

It's not exactly McGarrett's call, though: German's character is there at the behest of the new governor (Richard T. Jones), and her duties include keeping tabs on the team in addition to helping solve crimes. According to TVLine (which first reported the news), she's also a potential love interest for McGarrett (where that leaves Michelle Borth's character, Catherine Rollins, remains to be seen).

German is one of several new faces on "Hawaii Five-0" this season, joining Jones, "Lost" alumnus Terry O'Quinn and Tom Sizemore, who will all have recurring parts. The series began filming on Season 2 this week and is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 19.

Good to see Tom Sizemore in a recurring role. He's a good actor and if he's managed, with the help of others, to bring himself back from the brink, good for him.

The original cast was best. Don't like this new female cast member. Grace Park is the best. I do like Terry O'Quinn though.

i like the original four...seriously, they dont have to add someone else... and i love catherine rollins as steve mcgarrett's love interest...
