'Harry's Law' targets Mark Valley and Jean Smart for Season 2
"Harry's Law" shed a couple of characters after its first season, and now it's adding a couple."Human Target" star Mark Valley has joined the NBC series as a regular, playing a lawyer who joins Harry's (Kathy Bates) on-the-rise practice, EW reports. Valley is reuniting with creator David E. Kelley, for whom he worked on "Boston Legal" for three seasons.
The show has also added Jean Smart, late of "Hawaii Five-0," in a sizable recurring part. They join fellow newcomers Karen Olivo, who will play another of Harry's new associates, and "Law & Order: LA" star Alfred Molina, who like Smart will recur. Christopher McDonald has also been bumped up to a series regular, while Aml Ameen and Brittany Snow have left.
Smart will play the prosecutor in a murder trial, with Molina as the defendant. Both are set to appear in multiple episodes.
"Harry's Law" moves to 9 p.m. ET Wednesdays in the fall; it's scheduled to premiere Sept. 21.

I thought ms. Snow was excellent. Did she leave on her own or was she fired?
Brittany Snow got dumped from the show but I can't wait what's going to happen in Season 2 and I don't know the status of Paul McCrane's return even though he was good of being bad on ER and 24.
I am not happy about all the changes going on, but since it is they only show I watch on NBC, I will prob. continue to watch. I am happy about Jean Smart, she was so good on 24, I just wish the writers had kept her on after season 5 and not ruined her entire charater development in one episode in season 6.
I am not happy with the changes either. I thought Ms. Snow was great. The show's appeal is the comic characters. She was funny.
I think they will be sorry that they changed it so much.
So glad this show is getting a second shot to succeed. Kathy Bates is exquisite as is Jackie Earle Hailey. Can't wait to see Alfred Molina and Jean Smart in the opening episodes. My calendar has been duly marked for this excellent show.
I tuned in to watch and was very surprised to see no explanation about why the office change and perhaps some explanation (closure) regarding Aml Ameen and Brittany Snow. I will miss Ameen, he's such a terrific English actor.
I loved the first season and was looking forward to season 2. I was very disappointed with all the changes. The whole 'wacky' group of characters assembled, along with the office location made this show different. Now with the new 'busy'office location and so many character changes, it becomes like so many other carbon copy shows. Still like Kathy Bates and "Tommy Jefferson"....but VERY disappointed to lose the others. This was my favorite NBC show last season; maybe no longer....
What was everybody so nuts about on the first season of Harry's law?? The cast of characters and the shoe store/office! And of course-Kathy Bates. Well-the new office idea stinks, and the loss of their location makes it just another run-of-the-mill lawyer show. And Jenna and Malcomb were great! I am glad I saved the DVR recording of the pilot.
