'General Hospital' set to move online?

Thanks to Katie Couric, one of daytime's longest-running and most iconic soaps may be making a move to the Web. According to Daytime Confidential, "General Hospital" -- ABC's only soap still slated to air beyond January 2012 -- could join "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" online sometime in the not too distant future."Prospect Park has a deal in place that gives them the same rights to General Hospital that they have with 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live,' once GH ends its run on television," a source tells the soap-centric blog.
In September 2012 -- still a year out -- ABC plans to debut Katie Couric's new talk show. Along with "The Chew" and "The Revolution," that doesn't leave any room for soaps.
"Even if one of the new shows ABC is premiering fails, everyone knows this is General Hospital's last year," the source adds. "The moment ABC cancels GH, Prospect Park's rights to broadcast the show for 10 years kicks in, just like with the other two shows."

I'd try but I find watching GH online now so inconvenient. I do that sometimes but even with a good internet connection it is annoying. During the summer and on breaks I get to watch live. During school I record it. So, I guess my answer is maybe.
I don't even watch All My Children and One Life to Live any more. I just don't have the time. But I won't be watching any of those new shows, especially Katy Couric or whatever our affiliate chooses to plant in the General Hospital time slot.
Pretty much when GH goes I will no longer be watching ABC and therefore I will no longer be watching ads for ABC's new shows.
I enjoy GH so much that these rumors that the world will end in September 2012 sound better every day
Once ABC cancels GH I won't be watching any ABC during the 1pm to 4pm ... do not really care for any of these shows ... hope they all bomb big time ...
Guess NBC's DOOL and CBS' Y&R and B&B will get my viewing after that ...
And ofcourse I'll keep watching AMC, OLTL and GH online ...
I already watch it online during the school year. It doesn't matter to me if I'm watching it on ABC or another website as long as it keeps going. Yesterdays episode was one of the best in a long time, I'm excited for the future of this show.
We DON'T need another FREAKING talk show.
And we certainly DON'T need one with Katie Couric.

When NBC cancelled Another World, I switched to ABC. I you cancel GEneral Hospital -- I will switch back to NBC.
I have been watching oltl and gh for over 30 years. i will try to watch them when they go online. I have stopped watching ALL ABC programming except OLTL and gh and will continue to do so into the future. I will not watch any more ABC talk shows and I hope they all fail and they regret their decision.
NBC is gonna be soooo sorry they cancelled our soaps! nobody cares about the "chew" cast, or Katie C.! we are ALL sick of any kind of reality show! semi celeb or not, we DONT want reality, we want our soaps!

I have been watching ABC soaps since I was a litle girl with my mom. I hate the fact that ABC has no respect for these very special shows. I find that ABC has no respect for it's fans and it will be an honor to see ABC go under for good. Yes I will try to watch all 3 of ABC soaps on the internet. But you can bet I will be turning to CBS to watch soaps between 1-4 pm no more ABC for this all time viewer. Lets watch ABC fail with it's new stupid shows.
