FX picks up Ryan Murphy's 'American Horror Story'

ryan-murphy-getty-320.jpg"Glee" creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are taking their creative mojo back to FX with "Amercian Horror Story." FX on Monday (July 18) announced that it placed a 13-episode order for the show about a family of three who "move from Boston to Los Angeles as a means to reconcile past anguish." The horror!

Murphy and Falchuk previously scored a big win for F/X with "Nip/Tuck."

"American Horror Story" has signed on an ensemble cast of big-time talent: Dylan McDermott, "Friday Night Lights'" Connie Britton, Jessica Lange, "Six Feet Under's" Frances Conroy and Taissa Farmiga (yep, Vera's younger sister).

Our cast is extraordinary and we can't wait to get started on production," said Murphy, who wrote the pilot along with Falchuck, in a press release.

"American Horror Story" is set to debut in October.

I feel sorry for Connie Britton. Ryan Murphy track record is not good. Nip/Tuck bombed after its first season. I haven't watched Glee since its first season.
