'Degrassi' premiere: Keke Palmer on playing Keke Palmer

"Degrassi: The Next Generation" kicks off its eleventh - yes, eleventh - season on Monday night on TeenNick at 8 p.m. with a special one-hour episode... and Degrassi High will be visited by none other than fellow TeenNick star Keke Palmer.

Palmer, who stars on "True Jackson, VP," plays herself in the episode, and she spoke with our friends at HollywoodLife.com about the "When Keke Met Sav" (Raymond Ablack) moments. Sav meets Palmer when she comes into town for a concert, and they hit it off right away. "He sees me for me," Palmer says. "He doesn't necessarily want to get to know me just because I'm a celebrity. He knows I'm famous, but that's not all I am to him."

Though it's her first appearance on the show, it wasn't Palmer's first time on set. As a long time fan of the show, she's used her TeenNick cred to visit the set before. She says she's been angling for a role since she joined the Nickelodeon family when she was just 15.
