'Deadliest Catch': Wizard Capt. Keith Colburn goes after show cameraman

keith-colburn-deadliest-catch.jpgThe goal for crews on reality shows is usually not to become part of the story. That doesn't happen on the next episode of "Deadliest Catch."

The episode, which airs Tuesday (July 19), finds Wizard Capt. Keith Colburn going off on one of the show's cameramen, Brad Carper, when Carper calls looking for a producer. As narrator Mike Rowe intones, "Carper interrupts Keith at exactly the wrong time."

You can watch what happens next at TMZ: Colburn, who's on edge at the end of the opilio crab season, storms below deck to confront Carper, eventually shoving him down a hallway. "Don't you f***ing get in my face!" Colburn shouts, among other things.

The two men smoothed things over later, TMZ says. We suppose these things happen in a high-stress environment like that.

"Deadliest Catch" airs at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday on Discovery.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.

yea no surprised by this after watchin DC for sooooo long lol

Coburn's a real idiot to begin with.

The crew isn't meant to be seen and isn't meant to be heard.. That is why its called "fly on the wall" reality shows

They showed the incident with Keith and the cameraman on After the Catch 2 shows ago.

Keith has *serious* anger management issues, though I gather from some comments he made at he beginning of the season that he's at least finally become aware of them and is at least *trying* to do something about it.

Of course, that won't help the person who breaks their neck when Keith pushes them down those stairs, or shoves them and they go over the railing.

While it does seem that the majority of professional sailors I've met and/or seen in action are superstitious to some extent or another (at least while they're at sea), Keith is waaaay more so than what I've seen as the norm. It indicates that he feels that he has no control over his life and his actions, and that probably makes him feel that it's perfectly okay to vent his anger in any way he sees fit -- appropriate or not.

Keith fans, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he's a "bad" man. I'm saying he's a man who desperately needs help understanding the root of his anger issues and learning appropriate ways of dealing with them. With the help of a wonderful therapist, I was able to completely change how I deal with my anger, so I know it can be done if one's willing to work at it. I hope he is, and that he does.

Pretty sure every captain out there has anger issues. Atleast from what Ive seen in the past 7 seasons of DC lol. I thought Sig would have been the first one to do it to be honest lol

I think Sig got a big wake up call when his brother Edgar left the boat. I think he had to admit to himself that it was Edgar who really made that boat work. I see him as the smartest of the bunch. I think Colborn is a bully. I'll bet he doesn't pull that knd of crap off the boat where somoeone could retaliate. At least in my experience, when someone has severe anger issues, it's because people have let them get away with it. Colburn's had problems before with things like fishing on top of another boats gear, etc. He may be good at what he does, but he wouldn't work for me.

Keith has by far the shortest fuse of any of the captains. He is often very unreasonable and abusive.
It seems that in the long run the crew has to decide if it is worth the abuse. He he a good fisherman who consistently pulls in big numbers each season. That makes it worthwhile for the crew. Money outweighs all else.

Keith is a bully and even treats his brother like ****. They should all beat him up. The Camera crews should move off his boat onto a new one.
