'Bachelor's' Emily Maynard: 'I wish I didn't have to sit here'
"Bachelorette" host Chris Harrison kicks off the Emily Maynard update interview by saying "some" of the couples on the show don't work out. Uh, shouldn't that have been "most"? We're all adults here.Emily starts off by saing she thought they'd be planning a wedding the next time she saw Chris Harrison. Hmm. Really? 'Cause myself (and lots of people I know who watch this show) didn't think you two were going to get married AT ALL.
She's crying right from the start, which just makes me want to heave. I'm so over Emily and if this is just ABC's way of keeping her in our minds so she can be the "Bachelorette" next summer? Ughhhh.
She confirms that she and Brad are not engaged anymore, but that he'll "always be a huge part of [her] life." She then invokes the friggin' DOT DOT DOT that Bentley dropped on Ashley. Are you kidding me, Emily?
Emily also says she'll "always be in love with Brad." Right up until her "Bachelorette" season starts filming next March, of course.
Now it's time to dish the dirt on why they broke up. She says there were "red flags," but doesn't name them, and says that her "want" to be married overshadowed the reality of the relationship. But there are no real details given. She cries some more as she says she feels like a failure and that it's heartbreaking.
Chris asks why Brad isn't there and Emily says, "I wish I didn't have to sit here." Uh, you don't. You don't have to. Does an ABC production assistant have a gun to Ricki's head?
And she continues, "I want to tell people." Hmm. Why? Oh right, next "Bachelorette." Got it.
The pity party then turns to the paparazzi, which - yeah, they're invasive. But cry me a river! You signed up for a reality TV show. It's the price of fame.
Emily also says Brad changed her as a person and that they'll keep in touch. So he'll drop by when she's "Bachelorette"? Help her pick out her new fella?
Moving forward, she says she just wants to focus on being a mom. Well ... not signing up for "The Bachelorette" would be a good start.
So that's how that went. What do you think, "Bachelor" fans?

I believed every word that Emily had to say and it is sad that you can bash another human being like that and for your info she has confirmed that she is not going to be the next bachelorette!!
Yes, it's about what I expected......no real details on why? Typical.
She did say why they broke up. She didn't know if Brad would be there in 6 weeks, no less 6 years.
What a rude article.
Emily's tears seemed genuine. She also didn't give away too much about their relationship & why it ended because she is a genuine lady with class, I commend her for that. I'm sure a contract of some sort forced her to be in that chair tonight.
I see no need for her to be the next Bachelorette either. Emily doesn't seem the type to make out with 20+ guys on TV, she cares too much about setting an example for her daughter.
I'm still upset I had to endure 1hr 45 min of Ashley's whining, crying, moaning & groaning just to see 15min of Emily.
At first I had her confused with the pathetic Maynard Triplets who got laughed off of American Idol and made a quick cameo on Janice Dickensons reality show, then tried to pitch their own show. How did I get her confused with those three cows ???
i agree w/the writer 100 percent! I never did like her and like her less. She said the media was still chasing them, I haven't seen any focus on that, the Casey anthony story has it all....she didn't have to come and "clear things up". I hope ABC is paying attention to lost ratings if she goes on next season
I understand that you have your right to your own opinion, but how could you hate her so much? You should really stick to writing articles/recaps that are positive, because this was uncalled for and rude. I think she is extremely genuine and I also don't think she would sign to be the next Bachelorette. Would I watch if she did? Absolutely. But I really don't think thats that example she'd set for her daughter. You've been drinking a lot of hateraid lately with your recaps - perhaps you should stop watching if you hate it so much. And I'd appreciate a little spoiler warning with the facebook page in regards to Big Brother, because so far you've ruined everything -**** leaving, the first nomination and the POV. When you plaster a picture of a couple under a warning sign, it kinda makes it pointless - seeing that said couple is always the one in question.
I hope you know that ABC you know is not going to put her on Bachelorette you know because I could not stand a season you know of her saying you know.
sorry but I have never seen such fake whimpering in all my life. *Eye-rolls*
Your article is so cruel. She seems genuine in her feelings. It sounds like Brad didn't take things seriously and that might have been why they broke up.
I'm sure ABC would love for her to be the next Bachelorette, but I don't see her getting cozy with a bunch of guys! She is just not that type!
