'White Collar,' 'Covert Affairs' crossover: 'It's gonna happen,' teases Matt Bomer
USA is kicking off its summer TV fare Tuesday night (June 7) with the return of "White Collar" for Season 3 and "Covert Affairs" for Season 2. Stars Matt Bomer and Piper Perabo stopped by "The Today Show" to talk about the return and they let us know they are pulling for a crossover event."I keep trying to get them to write a crossover!" exclaims Perabo, after host Meredith Vieira remarked that Perabo's CIA agent could certainly have a run-in with Bomer's ex-con who is helping out the FBI in exchange for a shorter prison sentence.
"It's gonna happen," Bomer adds. Well, we are keeping our fingers crossed. Two of our favorite USA shows coming together for an episode or two? Mark us down for a "yes."
Perabo also explains that "Covert Affairs" is just getting bigger this year, as her character Annie Walker is no longer so wet behind the ears.
"The first season I was a rookie in the CIA, so now this year I sort of have some experience. They're letting me do much bigger missions, I'm traveling internationally, the stunts have gotten a lot bigger," says Perabo.
And when pressed by Vieira as to whether her boyfriend survived last year's cliffhanger finale, Perabo teases, "We'll find out in the first episode."
"White Collar" and "Covert Affairs" return at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET, respectively, on USA. If you want to get caught up on "Covert Affairs" Season 1, USA is running an all-day marathon of the 12 Season 1 episodes Tuesday, June 7 leading into the primetime premieres of "Collar" and "Affairs."

No, thank you. See, everyone on White Collar, even the dog, can act. Piper Perabo... well, she's pretty. Now if Auggie were to come help Peter and Neal with a case, that might be okay.
Maybe Annie can go visit Kate on Fairly Legal.
Piper Perabo is a Golden Globe nominated actress. She does just fine. Hater.
Covert Affairs rocks! Can't wait for season 2!
I'd love to see a COvert Affairs/White Collar/Burn Notice crossover.... THAT would so rock
