'True Blood's' Lauren Bowles: Season 4 is 'just insanity'
"True Blood" is returning for its fourth season on Sunday, June 26 and this season promises a whole new sort of supernatural creature for us to feast on. In addition to the vampires, shapeshifters and fairies, we now have witches.Lauren Bowles plays wiccan Holly Cleary on "True Blood," a new waitress at Merlotte's we met last season who is going to play a much bigger role in the upcoming season - and she assures us that in usual "True Blood" fashion, the action is insane.
"It's just insanity that happened this year. So I feel quite confident that fans will be quite happy," says Bowles.
Bowles won't divulge any spoilers, but she does give us some juicy details about the witches' coven.
"Various people are kind of tapped into their own personal power more than others I would say," says Bowles. "Very nature based and sort of - and I would say sort of a kind of honoring of the sacred feminine ... just a sort of feminine power, but that's sort of the ruler of all that you know, that sort of makes everything happen, it's how we all came to be. And so there's various ways of sort of harnessing that power. And it can be through herbs, it's very nature based."
We can't wait to see what the witches are up to, especially Marnie, the leader of the coven played by "Harry Potter" veteran Fiona Shaw.
"There's just not enough like superlative adjectives to say about Fiona because she is ... she's such a fabulously idiosyncratic woman ... she just comes to play," says Bowles of Shaw.
"Our chase is really getting more immersed and seeing some of the darker sides that you know, that live within this world. You know, you can harness power, but power can be both used for good and evil," Bowles continues.
And Bowles of course acknowledges that "True Blood" is a very sexy show. When asked if she's been, ahem, less than clothed with any men or women on the show, Bowles says, "Well, I'm not going to divulge into things like that. But I will just say in general, it's a very naked set."
Excellent.
"True Blood" returns Sunday, June 26 at 10 p.m. ET on HBO.

Omg I can't wait for tonight!!!
I am sooooo excited!!!!!!!!! Been waiting for almost a year!
SO many voices in my head and we're ALL excited beyond belief. Bring it!!
True Blood is one of my favorite shows. I’ve always liked unique takes on Vampire legends and this is one of the better (more original) ones. It’s even better now that I’m paying so much less for my TV service. I made the switch from Comcast to DISH Network sometime back and some time later, I even went to work for DISH. Of course there’s more to choosing a TV service provider other than simply the price (although it’s a big one), that’s why I was pretty excited to find this website called www.BestTVForMe.com. It gives some thorough, fair comparisons between all the major companies and although I can’t honestly say DISH blew everyone away in every category I am proud to say we did very well overall. I certainly recommend checking it out, it will help you make an informed decision.
