The X Factor: Nicole Scherzinger replaces Cheryl Cole

It's official -- on Monday morning, FOX announced that Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger will replace Cheryl Cole behind the judges' table for Simon Cowell's American version of "The X Factor."She joins judges Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Cowell himself for the show -- which is already well into the contestant audition process. Scherzinger had previously been attached to co-host the show with Welshman Steve Jones (not the Sex Pistol), but according to FOX, Jones will now handle hosting duties solo.
Cole, as we reported last week, is also out of a job in the U.K., too. No mention of the pop singer was made when the judges for the upcoming British version of the show were announced.
FOX didn't give any reason for Cole's dismissal, though speculation has centered on whether her strong British accent would be understandable to American audiences. There have also been rumblings that Cole and Abdul didn't mix well behind the judges' table.

Can't believe this after the news yesterday that Cheryl may be back after all. Nicole is beautiful too but does not have a great personality. ugh I hate this. Bad move Fox
Goodbye Cheryl and hello Nicole a la Miss PCD. Guess X Factor doesn't consider to have a second season despite having too many singing competitions for the upcoming Fall lineup. Tell that to IDOL, THE VOICE nor THE SING OFF.

Cheryl Cole would have grown a following in the US. Nicole is going to scare away viewers with her snoozefest judging.
Nicole is million miles better than Cole!!! Nicole Scherzinger is better than Cheryl in many terms....
I understand this.
I mean, Cheryl is one of the most successful winners of a song contest show and a member of one of the most successful girl groups ever.
But Nicole..Nicole was on the American version of the show Cheryl won, that formed a group no one listened to, and then became the singer of Carmen Electra's group of strippers.
Makes sense to me.
I've never heard of her before, but damn, Nicole is quite unattractive...or did zap2it just pick the worst picture of her ever taken?
