'The Voice's' Adam Levine vs. Adam Lambert: No more drama

lambert-levine-getty.jpgOn Tuesday night's episode of "The Voice," one contestant, Nakia, performed Adam Lambert's single, "Whataya Want From Me." When the time came for the coaches to weigh in, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine unintentionally riled up some serious Glamberts.

"I'm not familiar with that song, but you just forced me to like it," he told Nakia. "You probably sang it better than the person who sang it originally."

For the record, it's not the first time Levine has been introduced to a song by a contestant -- and it wouldn't be the last. Later that night, he said something similar about Xenia's performance of The Script's "Man Who Can't Be Moved."

It didn't stop Lambert's fans from getting mad. "Adam Levine shouldn't be judging The Voice if he isn't aware of one of the best voices out there today. He made himself look naive and stupid," one fan, by the name of Coco Glambert, posted on Zap2it.

"Congrats, Adam Levine," added another reader, Jen. "You just intentionally (because no way did you not know the song or the original performance) pi**ed off millions of Adam Lambert and Pink fans, many of whom will now most likely NOT vote for Nakia."

One person who didn't take offense? Lambert himself.

"Yeah Nakia! Saaaang boy!! Great performance. I think Adam might know who I am after this next album. Get ready for me Levine. Hahah," he tweeted light-heartedly. "But for the record, Im def a Maroon 5 fan. Fans: there is NO reason to be angry. Thanks for being protective but it's all good. :)"

Levine also felt that there was no reason for fans to be so heated up. "I had honestly never heard that song before. I thought that made me like a song that would have otherwise fallen flat. I'm NOT sorry," he wrote. Later, he added, "No disrespect intended for ...I honesty had never heard the song before. I'm not one to take cheap shots like that."

Levine is still a douche...he know he knows this song and the singer..he wanted to diss Adam Lambert on TV and it backfired because folks that don't even like Lambert know he can sang and sang his Grammy Nom song the best--I bet Levine's so-called hiphop buds are clowning him because they know Lambert can SANG his azz off. Levine still sucks and showed what an arrogant prick he is and how he LOOKS DOWN ON Adam Lambert.

Okay. I just can't understand the big deal behind this. I just can't. Seriously why the hell are people getting so mad? It is really ridiculous. ADAM SAID NOTHING BAD AT ALL. He did not say Adam Lambert you suck and you can't sing or anything remotely rude. No he simply said he wasn't aware of the song, so what. I hate to break it to people but not everyone in the world knows all of Lambert's songs and a lot don't even know who he is. SHOCKING. Adam Levine doesn't listen to that kind of music so therefore he isn't going to recognize all of his songs. Not everyone likes the same music. People keep saying OMG OMG Adam Lambert was nominated for a grammy, how could you not know his song. UM Maroon 5 has WON 3 grammy's and I know people that don't know who they are. Blake Shelton has been around for 10 years and I never knew about him til last year because I simply don't really listen to country. Does that make me an ******* now? NO. To all these people complaining, do you know the songs of every single artist nominated for a grammy including the blues, jazz, gospel, mexican artists? I'm guessing no so the grammy thing doesn't matter at all. No one complained when Adam Levine said he didn't know the Script song. How come? Because Adam Lambert fans are obsessive. People really need to grow up and stop being so immature about a stupid situation like this. There are more important things happening in the world.

I think for sure this thing is getting blown out of proportion. I love Adam Lambert, but some of his fans are ridiculous. I don't think Adam Levine's comment was a cut on Adam Lambert at all -- more like a cut on the song itself. And since Adam Lambert didn't write the song, it really doesn't reflect on him at all. All Adam Levine meant was that it wasn't a song that he thought he would like otherwise, but he liked Nakia's version; speculating that he probably wouldn't like the song with someone else singing it. And just because Adam Levine appeared on a Grammy compilation album that Adam Lambert also appeared on doesn't mean Adam Levine would be required know all of the songs on it (he might not even have heard it at all and may have just given permission for his song to be used). Guess what; there's no exam to pass before you can release your own music. The Adam Lambert fans are manufacturing this drama with all these "of COURSE he knows who Adam Lambert is and he's just jealous!" comments, etc.. Ridiculous.

To most that have commented here. You are so naive. Levine dissed Adam Lambert on purpose. He act naive when he has a motive. His intention I'm sure was get Lambert fans upset so they wouldn't vote for Nakia and it worked. It's also obvious that those commenting are not Lambert fans. Haters again.

Problem with Levine was that Levine told the contestant that he sang it better than the original singer when he (Levine) also said he never heard Lambert sing it. Pretty dopey. And all these cracks here about Lambert's fans - doubt Levine would have publicly apologized on E! if the fans weren't around. Good for them.

Considering the ORIGINAL singer is Pink, maybe he is telling the truth. But this is all so ridiculously stupid. Those of us who do not like Lambert do not like him because we hate his screechy voice. GET OVER IT! There is no reason everybody has to agree with you!! And there's even less reason to throw a teenage girl hissy fit because someone DARES to disagree! GROW UP!

please stop all the hate people. i,m so very sure that levine or lambert does,nt even know you are on this earth. its good to be fans. but NOTHING bad was really said. there are many MILLION SALEING songs that i,ve NEVER heard of. and i,m sure that you guys may not know some really big hits. everything will be fine young men and women. take care and have a nice day. and may good things come your way.

so what if levine doesn't know who lambert is most people don't the guy's not that great and all you fat lonely glamberts need to get a life...

Whether or not Levine knows Lambert is hardly the point in my opinion.

The FACTS are that WWFM was a top 10 hit -- which meant it was played on the radio a LOT, its video was on the same VH1 countdown for weeks with Levine's own song (and beat it over and over and over), was Grammy nominated and was even included on the same cd as Levine's own song.

So if Levine doesn't know a song with that much visibility, then he's either lazy about his OWN genre or stupid. In attempting to diss the song, all he did IMO was make himself look ignorant. His later tweets made him look like his mama didn't raise him right.

Compound that with an earlier comment from him that he'd never heard an acoustic Heartless even though Kris Allen opened for his own band on tour last year and played Heartless on that tour, I have to wonder just how far Levine's head is stuck up his own butt that he seemingly knows nothing of what's going on around him.

I've been a casual fan of Maroon 5's for a long time, but paid no attention to Levine prior to the Voice and what he's shown me so far isn't too impressive.
