'Smash': Katharine McPhee teases NBC's midseason series on 'The Voice'

When "The Voice" returns to NBC early next year, it will be paired with a new, music-filled drama called "Smash."Tuesday night (June 28), the network tried to build a little buzz for that still-distant pairing by having one of the show's stars, former "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee, plug "Smash" on "The Voice."
So did it work for you? The McPhee-centric teaser, which features her singing "Voice" judge Christina Aguilera's song "Beautiful," is pretty effective -- even if it relegates other series stars like Debra Messing, Anjelica Huston and Jack Davenport to the background. But we get it: On a music show, you're going to push the music in "Smash." (That's Broadway actress Megan Hilty, by the way, as McPhee's rival.)
"Smash" will likely premiere in February after "The Voice" launches. The new teaser is below -- let us know what you think.

I'd watch even if the show was a still shot of Katherine McPhee.
If this is NBC's new idea for getting people to turn on the tv, I think it could work. Hiring a former American Idol winner and a talented and beautiful one, as well as a strong cast of reputable actors, with a Chorus Line type story sounds like a winner.
Hopefully the new shows that NBC starts putting out will be just as creative and polished. Ofcourse when you hire Speilberg you are practically halfway there to a blockbuster to start with.
So is this what will happen to the "Glee" kids after graduation?
I'm impressed. That isn't what I was expecting at all, but I like what I see! Hopefully it will inspire Glee to step up its game
So excited for this new show, SMASH! Love that Spielberg chose Katharine McPhee to star in SMASH! Alot of my favorite actors will be on my TV on a weekly basis! Go SMASH!
