'Law & Order: SVU': Danny Pino, Kelli Giddish join the cast for Season 13

Meet the new cast members of "Law & Order: SVU" -- former "Cold Case" regular Danny Pino and "Chase" star Kelli Giddish.Pino will step into the shoes vacated by Christopher Meloni, who left the show last month after 12 seasons. Giddish, meanwhile, will fill in for Mariska Hargitay, who's reducing the number of episodes she's appearing in this season.
Both actors are coming off other NBC projects. Giddish starred in the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced "Chase" last season, and she's also guest-starred on both "SVU" and "L&O: Criminal Intent" in the past. Pino was one of the stars of the network's drama pilot "Metro" (aka "S.I.L.A."), which wasn't picked up for 2011-12. He also appeared on a couple episodes of USA's "Burn Notice" last year.
"I'm very pleased that we have two amazing actors joining the cast," "SVU" creator Dick Wolf says. "I know this combination will give us the opportunity to explore the world of 'SVU' with new eyes."

Oh my gosh...I suggested Danny Pino...Wow!
Danny Pino is sexy as fuuuuuuuuu**!! Good choice. I didn't much care for Chase or any of its cast. So, boo on that choice.
Kelli sure has come a long way from her All My Children days.
I was a huge cold case fan I still miss it. I hope this works out for him.

Giddish......pleeeeeez-
didn't like her on AMC- never watched an episode of Chase because it was about her character- and now she will fill in for one of the best female cop characters on tv. Danny Pino was great on Cold Case and while he's no Elliot Sadler he'll bring an interesting twist to things. I know shows can't last forever, even Law and Order, but I really think she's going to hurt any chance of success. If you haven't watched her you'll see- if you have watched her elsewhere you'll see what I mean... Another great adult show, that's not 30 minutes of sassy bratty kids or sexual inuendos, going down in flames rather than with class. L&O CI perfect example of knowing when to call it quits while the original stars are there to close out the characters.
They cast 2 actors that were cops on their last TV gigs. I think they could have done MUCH better with the casting. For the next season I'm only going to watch the episodes that feature Mariska Hargitay. I think will probably be the last season for SVU.
That's good news but CSI still looking for Laurence Fishburne's replacement.
pino yes, giddish you're kidding right. nbc is determined to give her a show ... at our expense.
@IronCasted From what I've heard Mariska is suppose to be in all 22 episodes. For the 1st 13-14 epi's, she will be full-time & the other 8-9 epi's,she will be part time
Irdk what to think of this casting. Obv no one can replace Meloni and especially Mariska, but that doesn't mean they aren't trying to now... I've never seen either of these 2 actors on their previous shows, but I will give them a chance. God help me tho if they f***ing ruin it... *Oh wait, **** Wolf already did that by letting Meloni leave* >:( #jmo
