Jessica Simpson joins NBC's 'Fashion Star'; 'CSI' again the world's most-watched drama

Your daily helping of TV snacks, starring Jessica Simpson and the cast of "CSI" ...NBC's upcoming competition show "Fashion Star" will feature Jessica Simpson as a celebrity mentor to the contestants. The show aims to find the next big fashion brand, so Simpson is a pretty good choice: Her Jessica Simpson Collection did a whopping $750 million in sales last year. [NBC]
For the fourth time in six years, "CSI" has been named the most-watched drama series on Earth. The show won the International Audience Award at the Monte Carlo TV festival for the drama with the highest ratings across 68 countries. "Desperate Housewives" won the comedy award. [CBS]
The clinching game of the NBA Finals delivered the biggest audience of the series by far and the most viewers for a Game 6 of the finals since 1998. ABC's coverage of the Dallas Mavericks' victory averaged 23.5 million viewers and a 9.5 rating among adults 18-49. [ABC]
Rob Schneider's still-in-contention comedy pilot at CBS has added Cheech Marin to its cast. The show stars Schneider as a guy who marries into a close-knit Mexican-American family; Marin will play his father-in-law. Marin replaces Tony Plana, who played the part in the original pilot. [Deadline]
