Jeffrey Dean Morgan's 'Magic City' series begins production in Miami
We've been looking forward to seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan's return to television after memorable runs on "Grey's Anatomy" and "Supernatural," so we're thrilled to report that Morgan's latest project, Starz' "Magic City," begins production in Miami this week. The ten-episode period drama is set around a 1950s Miami Beach Hotel. Morgan plays the "visionary" behind the operation, Ike Evans -- unsurprisingly, he's got some "dangerous secrets" lurking in his past. His wife, Vera, is a former showgirl played by Olga Kurylenko, and Danny Huston plays Ben Diamond, an infamous mobster.
Rounding out the cast are Steven Strait and Christian Cooke as Ike's sons, Stevie and Danny, Jessica Marais as Ben's "beautiful and caged" wife Lily, Dominik Garcia Lorido as a hotel maid, and Elena Satine, an escort who "helps Ike out from time to time."
Also starring are Kelly Lynch, Michael Rispoli, Seymour Cassel, and Yul Vasquez.
Starz' official description reads, "As Frank Sinatra rings in a new year in the grand ballroom of Miami Beach's most luxurious dream palace - the Miramar Playa - its visionary leader, Ike Evans, must deal with the Mob, his complicated family and a city in the midst of dramatic change as Fidel Castro takes control of Cuba, just 200 miles offshore. By day the hotel at the center of "Magic City" is all diving clown acts and cha-cha lessons by the pool, but at night Miami Beach reveals a darker truth."
Mark us down as intrigued.

It says "Magic Circle" instead of City in the first paragraph. A hybrid with Secret Circle? I'd probably still watch it.
When Jeffrey smiles it is on!
