'How I Met Your Mother' adds Martin Short to replace Dave Foley

Martin Short has apparently spent enough time on the dark side.

Following the comedian's uncharacteristic 2010 stint on "Damages," it looks like he'll be hamming it up on "How I Met Your Mother."

Vulture reports that the "HIMYM" team has settled on Short to replace Dave Foley in the recurring role of Marshall's (Jason Segel) new boss.

Don't weep for Foley, though. He's no longer eligible for the part (first seen in the Season 6 finale) now that his new comedy "How to Be a Gentleman" was also picked up by CBS.

Foley appeared as "Mr. Bloom," and since production on Season 7 of "HIMYM" has yet to start, it's unclear whether Short will be taking on the same character or another higher-up at Marshall's environmental law firm.
