'Glee' cast changes: Lea Michele goes, Matthew Morrison stays?

lea-michele-glee-comeback.jpgThis is sad news for us "Glee" fans, but we suppose that those Gleeks can't stay young forever. Ryan Murphy spoke with Ryan Seacrest on Friday morning and not only announced his engagement to an unknown mystery man, but also mentioned that the "Glee" cast would be undergoing some major renovations in coming years.

As the New Directions kids, like Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) graduate - which they will - we won't suddenly see "Glee: The College Years." Instead, they'll be replaced by a freshman class of new talent.

"We've got Matt Morrison and Jane Lynch who will stay and be the male and female linchpins of the series, but I think the fun thing about the show is it's a celebration of youth and talent," Murphy says. "I think that just like with the original cast, I think finding those young unknown people and giving them an opportunity to break into the business and become stars is a really fun and exciting thing and is the spirit of the series."

Murphy would prefer not to think of it as a negative thing. "I don't think of it in terms of eliminating or replacing," he says, "because I think the thing about this cast is people love them and they are incredibly talented. They've left sort of an indelible mark."

Who will you miss the most when the dreaded graduation day comes along?

I strongly believe the show will fail without the original cast.

I think that it's a great idea, or they could do what the original 90210 did and follow the core cast as they age through high school collage and finish the show what become of them after collage.

Abd then a decade later someone make a glee remake show and bring some of the original cast back.

If Chris, Lea, and Darren go, so do I.

Once Lea Michele leaves I'll start watching Glee again.

Once Lea Michele leaves I won't be watching Glee anymore.

My two favourite characters are Kurt and Rachel. When Chris Colfer and Lea Michele leave Glee, I will be quite happy to stop watching the show. Their acting has transcended some very poor writing this season, and they are both so talented I'm sure they're going to succeeed in the industry and have many opportunities to do good work. In a way I'm relieved that Glee is dropping the guillotine on the current cast: it makes for a clean break at the end of Season 3.

Well, the black girl will probably fail a year or two so she's going nowhere soon.

Well, Chris Colfer leaves and I'm able to quit this show and follow his career post-Glee. He and Rachel are my favourite characters but he is particularly the heart of the show for me. Give us a New York spin-off with them and I'll watch it; graduate them with no spin-off and they've lost a viewer.

Well, we won't have to worry about Brittany going anywhere

The only good thing that will come out of this is seeing the original cast leave gives aspiring and talented young people the chance to find fame and live out their passion in life. Bravo Ryan and congrats on the new engagement!!
