'Dexter' is 'renewed, recharged, refocused' in creepy Season 6 promo
The latest teaser for Season 6 of "Dexter" has arrived, and we are simultaneously really excited and more than a little skeeved out by it.
It's a simple teaser: just a close-up shot of star Michael C. Hall staring at the camera as he reads some voiceover copy. But what he says -- and the fact that his eyes turn red as the camera pushes in ever closer -- is brilliantly creepy. The full text:
"You know me. We've been through a lot together. I've always found it easiest to be honest with you, so I wanted to be the first to tell you: I'm feeling like my old self again -- renewed, recharged, refocused -- with nothing to stop me from being ... me."
Yeah -- if that doesn't warm the hearts/make the hair of "Dexter" fans stand on end, we don't know what will.
There's just one flaw, and it has nothing to do with the promo itself. Because Hall also does voiceovers for Dodge, we almost can't help but wonder if he's talking about Dexter's sociopathy or hawking the new Durango. But that's our own hangup, and the "Dexter" promo is great regardless. The series returns to Showtime in the fall.

Awesome! I'm so excited for the new season. This show may have had some seasons that are better than others, but it hasn't had any flat-out BAD seasons.
DEXTER is tops on TV. The show never ceases to astound/surprise me.
Long live the series! :-)
For a deeper yet completely different perspective on dex, try reading the books! I am hooked!
DEXTER eyes are seeing red and thank goodness this isn't TRUE BLOOD.
Okay, that Dodge comment is hilariously spot-on. I'm dying laughing watching the promo now.
Hope they bring back Lumen at some point...
I pretty much wrote the series off after the last season; it's like the writers just gave up.
Have seen every episode of all five seasons of Dexter. Season three (w/ Jimmy Smitts) was the weakest. Season five came in a close second running neck and neck with season three, but redeemed itself in the latter half. The Lumen character kinda shifted the focus off of Dex. Keep Lumen off the show, get rid of the kids, and get the focus back on Dex, and thank God, whiny Rita is gone! What is with Dexter and all these annoying women characters???
I enjoyed season 4 with John Lithgow as the villian but the show should get back to Dexter tracking down one "bad guy" per episode. And I agree with Jazzy - get rid of the extra story lines, they do more to annoy then to enhance the stories.
