'Desperate Housewives' Felicity Huffman: 'I'd like to go two more years'
"Desperate Housewives" star Felicity Huffman, who plays Lynette, had to do some damage control recently when her famous husband, "Shameless" star William H. Macy, told reporters that she only has one more year on the ABC series.
"No, that's not been decided yet, but I love that Bill is spreading rumors," Huffman told reporters according to E!Online. "No, we're signed up for two more years."
Macy may have been confused by the reported contract negotiations that had his wife and fellow housewives definitely signed on for next fall's Season 8 with the option to renew for one more season after that.
"Depends on the ratings whether we'll actually go two more years or not," Huffman explains. "But we're keeping our fingers crossed. I'd like to go two more years. I love the work, I love working from home, it's the job of a lifetime, so I hope it goes two more years, but maybe it's just one more year. It depends on how we do."
In the Season 7 finale, Huffman's character and her newly career-oriented husband, Tom (Doug Savant) were talking separation. So, what does the actress think of her character's struggling marriage?
"I think it's going to be tough for Tom and Lynette to get through this," she says. "I don't know exactly how they are going to jump over this and I think depending on whether this is our last year or not we'll decide on whether they break up or not. It would be sad if they split, wouldn't it?"
We think it would suck if they split up for good. What do you think? And do you think the series has two more seasons in it?
