'Vampire Diaries' Season 3 madness: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, and Paul Wesley get their guesses in

tvd-upfront-vid-320.jpgSometimes on a red carpet, things can get a little bit crazy -- and apparently, that's also true for green carpets. Zap2it was on the scene at the CW Upfront event in NYC on Thursday, and we were talking Season 3 with "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev when co-stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley crashed the interview.

We were pressed for time, because the vamp trio had to hit the stage just moments later, but we did get Nina's take on that long-awaited finale kiss. "That's kind of what the whole third season's going to be about," she tells us. "It's going to be about explaining and figuring out why she did that. I can definitely say that it was a very bittersweet, beautiful, short-lived interrupted moment that we'll have to play with and see why it happened later."

We got a little distracted when the boys arrived (seriously, can you blame us?). You won't want to miss the video below for everyone's impressions of the newest addition to "The Vampire Diaries" cast, the charmingly nefarious Joseph Morgan, or their predictions for Season 3, in which Stefan has returned to his ripper ways.

Paul has always been a big fan of the dark side of Stefan. "I'm cautiously optimistic that Season 3 maintains that," Paul says. "I don't know what's going to happen because they don't tell us anything. I hope he doesn't turn good, you know, episode two he's like 'Ah, what am I doing? Elena!' and he starts crying."

"Elena's probably going to try and find Stefan," Nina guesses. "Damon's going to chase her and try to make sure she doesn't die -- and fall in love, and I don't know. I have no idea."

"I had an hour and a half conversation with Kevin Williamson," Ian, who just got back from a trip to Africa, adds. "And I got very little out of it other than the fact that by virtue of the fact that we've gotten over this hump of mythology and witches and moonstones and all of these things, now we can get into the nitty gritty, character-based, psychological thriller dark scary part."
