'Two and a Half Men' bows out of Emmy race early
"Two and a Half Men" will not be among the nominees for Best Comedy Series at the 2011 Emmy Awards.
In what we're going to go out on a limb and refer to as a classy move, Deadline reports the show's producer, Warner Bros. TV, did not submit the series for consideration -- despite being eligible and scoring three nominations in the category during its first seven seasons.
The story cites the very public backstage drama surrounding Charlie Sheen's departure and row with creator Chuck Lorre as reasons for the move. "Men" halted production in January, finishing its season early with only 16 produced and aired episodes.
But that's not to say they're out of the running completely. Deadline also reports that the studio will be campaigning for co-stars Jon Cryer, Holland Taylor, Angus T. Jones and Conchata Ferrell to all receive nominations.
Cryer has been nominated for the role every year since 2006, winning an Emmy for supporting actor in a comedy series in 2009.

CBS better do the right thing and dump Two and a Half Men after the end of the season because of Ashton Kutcher.
Charley... is that you? Get used to the idea the show is going to be a lot better without ya!!!!
You don't know that Arthur so speak later when we will see how are the ratings..unlike you i don't play 'Cassandre' maybe the ratings will be there (well i am sure the ratings will be very good for the first episode at least..) maybe they won't be, i don't know but for sure i know that i will miss Charlie Harper that show was based on his character..It will be a spin-off kind of..a very different show for sure.
Melanie Lynskey also deserves to be nominated!!!
