TV ratings: 'So You Think You Can Dance' premiere up from last year

The premiere of "So You Think You Can Dance" started the summer TV season with solid ratings Thursday, improving on last year's debut and carrying FOX to a win for the night.

FOX was the only network with original programming Thursday and led the night with 9.1 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/9 share in households. CBS (8.1 million, 5.1/9) finished second. There was a pretty sizable drop from CBS to third-place ABC (4.1 million, 2.6/4). NBC took fourth with 2.4 million viewers and a 1.5/3, while The CW drew a little under 1 million viewers and a 0.6/1.

FOX led the adults 18-49 demographic by a wider margin, scoring a 3.2 rating while no one else managed to get above the 2.0 mark. CBS came in second with a 1.7, and ABC, 1.0, edged out NBC, 0.9, for third. The CW scored a 0.3 in the demo.

Glad too see Rookie Blue back, much better show than CSI .

while 'parks and rec' and 'the office' and '30 rock' on hiatus, there is absolutely nothing to watch on thursdays. that is, until 'rizzoli and isles' premieres.

Nobody wants to even watch Nbcs show on reruns. But people love watching Cbs's shows back. Like me. Nbc comedys are not comedy
