TV ratings: 'American Idol' down but still leads Wednesday by a lot

scotty-live-idol.jpgFast National ratings for Wednesday, May 4, 2011

"American Idol" declined some from last week's performance show, but nothing else on TV Wednesday did especially well either, so the usual order of things didn't change.

Which is to say, FOX led the night by a bunch, averaging 17.2 million viewers and a 10.5 rating/16 share among households in primetime. CBS (10.7 million, 7.0/11) came in second. ABC (5.9 million, 4.0/6) took third, beating out NBC's 5 million viewers and 3.3/5. The CW averaged 1.5 million viewers and a 1.1/2.

Among adults 18-49, FOX's 5.4 rating was far and away the night's best, almost doubling the 2.8 for No. 2 CBS. ABC finished third in the demographic with a 2.1. NBC averaged 1.5 and The CW 0.7.

American Idol will likely adjust up in finals.

I'm rooting for Suspect Behavior to get cancel. CBS is once again WASTED with their torturous schedule. Saw an episode in which they had Eric Roberts the villain from "The Expendables".

where on earth has munch been on svu... and isnt next year belzers 20th straight year tying the record for most years in a row playing the same character... tied w/ kelsey grammar... (frasier was better on cheers) and the gunsmoke guy

I really wish the Paul Reiser show was still on. I'm happy I DVR'ed those 2 episodes though, since I rewatch them every night -- at least until the Bachelor Pad starts. Then I will be sure to watch that (of course the 2 episodes of the Paul Reiser show will remain preserved in my DVR), and then post spoilers about it here from Reality Steve.

Nice uptick for The Middle but running sitcoms/comedies at 10 pm is stupid. ABC/Disney are about the biggest morons in tv and movies.

The gap in fast national ratings between the Criminal Minds spin-off and Law & Order: SVU is getting smaller. SVU seems to be steadying now, since the Criminal Minds spin-off started.

M E O W...for the love of pete, will you stop obsessing over this crazy **** of Reiser and Bachelor Pad? How demented are you? SERIOUSLY!!! They need to lock you up in a rubber room and throw away the key. You need help crazy woman! GET IT! You're seriously freaking me out now! You waste of space!

As an avid Survivor fan, does anyone see it getting canceled anytime soon? Long gone seem to be the days when it racked up huge ratings. 10 million is obviously nothing to scoff at though. Maybe they need to do a celebrity version of the show to garner interest. Bring on some A-listers though not just the Dancing With the Stars quality. I'm sure if celebrities can waste time learning to dance, they can spend 39 days on an island somewhere.

Looks lik tampon is the one impersontrating herslef! Haha lol purr sad thin. Noww off to Yoda.
