'The Voice' lands post-Super Bowl spot, 'Breaking Bad' Season 4 starts in July
NBC is in love with "The Voice." In lieu of its sizable new or returning scripted slate, the network has chosen the Season 2 premiere of its new musical competition for the coveted post-game spot on Super Bowl Sunday 2012.
The network announced May 31 that its exclusive coverage of the game would be followed by a special one-hour episode, which will see the return of its current stable of judges, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. [NBC]
Season 4 of AMC's "Breaking Bad" will make its debut Sunday, July 17 at 10 p.m ET -- making it more than 13 months since fans saw the last original episode. Because of the timing, the show won't be eligible for any Emmy nominations in 2011, breaking star Brian Cranston three-year domination in the lead actor in a drama category. [Trailer below, via AMC]
As you might imagine, rumors that sci-fi auteur George Lucas has actually shot two seasons' worth of a "Star Wars" television series are quite false. Lucasfilm refutes the news, based on a misquote, saying that while Lucas has written episodes for a potential series, they're "waiting for a different type of technology [to] use so it's economically feasible to shoot the shows." So excited for the new season of Breaking Bad as well as the post Super Bowl episode of The Voice on NBC.
great show but they are killing it with that 10p slot.
If the NFL doesn't get their stuff together, NBC won't have the Super Bowl (or season) and will have to put other shows, besides "The Voice" that night.
