'The Real Housewives of New Jersey': Is Melissa Gorga really that bad?
Yes, we've been hearing "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" fans aren't too happy with Teresa Giudice's sister-in-law, new cast member Melissa Gorga. But we think you're all being extremely hard on her.
In Monday's (May 23) episode, the women found themselves reunited after last episode's christening disaster at the Posche fashion show. By the way, can someone explain to us how that's fashion? And how many animals will have to give their lives to make these Jersey chicks look so cheap? We digress.
New housewife and Teresa's cousin, Kathy Wakile, decided to have a word with Teresa at the event and it blew up. We have to say she came at it with an accusatory tone, but someone's going to have to let their ego go if this family is to make up.
First of all, who are we to judge Melissa with so little information about what's really going on in that family? There are years of history there that we haven't even touched on yet. Don't you think you should hold off on convicting her until you've seen more of the evidence?
Fans like to call her a fame whore, but we counter with what exactly is Teresa or anyone that participates in a reality show for that matter? There's got to be at least a little fame whore in anyone that agrees to have his or her life taped.
Melissa plans on launching her music career this season on the show and people are giving her grief for that. We think it's dumb if you're on a show like "Real Housewives" and you don't do something to make some money off of it. After all, it's only temporary. Why not make the most of it? Bethenny Frankel is a multi-millionaire now, because she started marketing her Skinny Girl cocktail on the New York show. And who would care about Teresa's cookbook if she wasn't on the show? Shouldn't they all have a chance to make the same kind of career moves now that they can?
Finally, the big question: Who should say sorry about what went down at the christening? Melissa and Kathy seem to believe it should be Teresa. Teresa believes it should be Melissa and her brother, Joe. While we think there's some truth to the fact that Teresa was playing nice for the camera by dancing with Melissa's baby and then going over to congratulate the couple, we think it's in her right to do so and her heart was in the right place. But, may we point out that Melissa accepted the congratulations before her husband started to make an issue of it. She even asked Joe to stop. So, who should apologize? People are so quick to pit women against each other. In our opinion, Melissa's husband, Joe, should say sorry.
Oh, if only it were that easy. As we mentioned above, none of us have a clear grasp on what has transpired in that family for the last decade to create all this animosity. The judgmental words and finger pointing at Melissa has been described to us as "hazing the new girl."
But, don't you think it has gone a bit far at this point and it's too early to judge her so harshly?

Unbelievable, Theresa may owe an apology for whatever part she played in the christening event, but I would say the person who should step up and take responsibility is Melissa's husband Joe. He acted like a 2 year old having a temper tantrum at the table or maybe we should call him BamBam. Theresa was invited to the christening but apparently she didn't get the memo that her brother and sister-in-law wanted her to sit and stay put in a corner. You may be frustrated with people at times but you don't act the way Joe Gorga did or make excuses for his bad behavior like his wife Melissa did.
I think Melissa and Joe are fame ****** who are angry that Theresa did not share in her tv career sooner. They are classless people who do not deserve to be on tv. They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they acted at their son's christening party. Aren't they embarrassed? Joe is a loud mouth pig who should not get any tv time. He is a disgrace to this show and his wife I think was jealous of Joe and Theresa's brother/sister relationship. She is a jealous ugly troll and I hope Bravo releases them and their cousin Kathy, who is another mindless jealous troll.
Bottom line is that in-laws should do everything they can to facilitate peace within a family. Melissa and Teresa’s husband should be bending over backward to get the two siblings to make up. True, we don’t know the real family dynamic going on, but even if Melissa has a legitimate reason to dislike Teresa, she should keep her mouth shut. That’s her husband’s sister, and the in-laws should stay out of that trouble. Instead, though it’s admirable she sides with her husband and defends him, she does it at the cost at of bashing her sister-in-law. Some people would rather have their relationship end than cause suffering for their significant other by battling with the relations. All things being equal, Melissa needs to pipe down.

From reading the article, it sounds as though Melissa is saying that she is taking advantage of being on the show to launch her singing career and what is wrong w/that. Well, nothing is wrong w/ it, but there is something wrong in the way Melissa and her husband are going about it. Melissa, to me, never wanted anything to do w/ teresa, because she comes off as a spoiled youngest sister of other sisters who are just vicious and dont have any other real friends but each other. Melissa is delusional in thinking she is that great of a singer/performer that she will shoot straight to stardom and the reason being is she is showing her true mean, selfcentered,fake "look at me I'm so sweet and innocent, but watch out for the knife in your back" ways. It's crystal clear what she is about and that is why I think it is wrong to use the show as her catalyst to even attempted to start her music/acting career. Now just say if this Melissa does get lucky and makes a hit record, mark may words, she will divorce her husband sooo quick your heads will spin. this female is worried about herself and herself only and she has no desire to try and help her husband repair his family!

Joe is full of it about how he was wronged and so justified his agression.Melissa is hateful and critical from day one. I am no big fan of Teresa but she is right about these two people
I think that Joe is a complete child. He acted like a child, then that drunk crying bit in front of his father? The man has issues. His wife needs to get him help, maybe Dr. Phil? It boils down to pure sible rivalry. He is jealous that his sister is on a TV Show and didn't include him-which would also include his wife. They actually make me not want to watch the show, which is pretty sad. I wish Dina would come back! It is coming across that as it stands now, Theresas family is a main focus of the show, and that is a complete turn off! I love Theresa! She is great and handled ALL with class. I don't want to see Melissa, Joe or Kathy or Kim D-EVER. They are offensive to look at on Television and ALL come across as fame grabbing wh*res. Bravo please step in and fix this mess----PLEASE!

Melissa is a master manipulator. She may have told her husband to stop but she set the whole thing in motion by mentioning how she "knew her place" at Teresa's daughter's christening party.
