'The Killing' sneak peek: Richmond goes on the attack

The preview of Sunday's (May 29) episode of "The Killing" tells us a couple of things: First, Bennet (Brandon Jay McLaren) has been cleared of any involvement in Rosie Larsen's murder. And second, he's in no position to celebrate.

As the clip begins, we see Bennet lying in a hospital bed with a halo brace around his head following the vicious beating he took at the hands of Stan Larsen (Brent Sexton) and Belko Royce (Brendan Sexton III) at the end of last week's episode. AMC's logline for "I'll Let You Know When I Get There" says Stan will face the consequences of his actions this week.

While Bennet recuperates, meanwhile, Councilman Richmond (Billy Campbell) uses the situation to press for the re-opening of his Seattle All-Stars program and to score some political points. The fact that he turned out to be right in sticking to his convictions about Bennet being innocent until proven guilty, however, doesn't make the timing of his press conference much less uncomfortable. It's what any politician in a campaign situation would do, but it's not pretty.

"The Killing" airs at 10 p.m. ET Sunday on AMC. For more on the show, follow "The Killing" on Twitter and Facebook.
