Fall TV Preview
The CW picks up 'Ringer,' 'The Secret Circle' and 'Hart of Dixie'
Look for some major star power on The CW come this fall.
The young network has announced its pick-ups for the Fall 2011-12 season: "Ringer," "The Secret Circle" and "Hart of Dixie."
"Ringer" was originally developed by CBS who then passed it on to its sister network. "Ringer" has been garnering huge buzz as it marks "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar's return to television. The series stars Gellar as a woman on the run from the mob who inhabits the life of her twin sister. It turns out the sister is wanted as well. "Life Unexpected's" Kris Polaha, "Fantastic Four's" Ioann Gruffudd and "Lost's" Nestor Carbonell co-star.
"The Secret Circle" comes from "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Kevin Williamson and Andrew Miller. Based on a book series from "TVD" author L.J. Smith, the series centers on a young girl ("LUX's" Britt Robertson) who discovers she is part of a coven of witches after moving to a new town. Guess what? She's also the key to unlocking a centuries-old battle of good vs.evil. Normal teenager problems. Also starring in the series are Thoma Dekker, Phoebe Tonkin, Shelley Hennig and Gale Harold.
"Hart of Dixie" re-teams "The O.C." creator Josh Schwartz with star Rachel Bilson. Bilson will play a young doctor who moves to a small Southern town full of eccentric people after she inherits a medical practice. "Friday Night Light's" Scott Porter and Jaime King co-star.

So excited about the pickups! Especially Secret Circle, the alternative would have ended with me in tears. Cant wait!
Looks like the CW is making some moves for next season, I'm excited!
All 3 new shows sound great!! I most looking forward to the Secret Circle. I love witch tv shows! The people behind Secret Circle are awesome-kevin williamson and andrew miller are brilliant and the cast is great! Ringer sounds like an awesome concept-so happy SMG will be back on tv!
Awakening? There are chances for another pick up for midseason?
Awesome picks! I'm excited to see Shelly Hennig on television again. The fact that only 3 pilots were picked up when the CW has 5 empty spaces to fill leads me to believe that One Tree Hill and Nikita will be picked up.
SO glad to see Secret Circle being picked up. I've never been a fan of the vampire genre, but I love me some witches. That, and the knowledge that Gale Harold will be on my tv screen on a weekly basis make me one happy viewer!

OH YES! I was hoping they pick up all 3, very good move! sarah michelle gellar & rachel bilson back to weekly tv! can. not. wait. now they just have to renew Nikita, then i'll be a happy camper.
I love all three of them, but I was hoping for Awakening, too.
The return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to TV is the frickin best news about the fall season!!
