'Survivor' finale: David Murphy proposes to Carolina Eastwood of 'Survivor: Tocantins'
We thought the "Survivor: Redemption Island" reunion was going to be pretty boring. Boston Rob won (by a large margin) the million dollar prize and he also won (by a much slimmer margin) the America's vote money, which is what we all kind of assumed would happen. But then! David Murphy, the outspoken defense attorney, started talking with Jeff about how he met Carolina Eastwood of "Survivor: Tocantins" after he came home from filming and they've been dating since. He says it wasn't love at first sight, it was more that "she kind of put [him] in [his] place a few times before she actually gave [him] the time of day."
After playing it coy, Jeff leads David into his planned proposal. David says, "You are the most amazing woman I've ever met. You challenge me, you drive me nuts, but at the end of the day you made me happier than I could ever ask to be, so will you marry me please?"
Her response? "Shut the flippin' front door ... yes, yes, oh my god, yes."
Carolina was the first contestant sent home from "Survivor: Tocantins," which is probably why you don't remember her. She started off her time a little bossy and was quickly sent packing. At the time she went on "Survivor" (which was 2009), she was a 26-year-old bartender in West Hollywood.
Congratulations to David and Carolina! Let's hope their marriage is as successful as Boston Rob and Amber's is (they also got engaged at a "Survivor" finale reunion).

Survivor doesn't have the greatest track record for producing couples but it has produced 3 solid marriages and even Ethan and Jenna, although not married, have been together for what seems like forever.
I wish them all the best but I see this going the way of Ryan (Pearl Islands) and Mary (Micronesia)'s shortlived engagement.
I have a lot of respect for Dave. He did Rob a huge favor at the final vote. Needless to say, the rest of the cast weren't very intelligent.
Off topic..hired David as our defense attorney. He is the worst to deal with! Horrible personality.
I don't care who you are, or how confident you are in your relationship, you REALLY shouldn't propose on live television. Before he actually asked, she was saying NO, shut it down. It really seemed like she didn't want to say yes, but with a live TV camera shoved in your face, what else are you going to say?
Yea, I love how Probst said after the initial shock, she agreed to marry him. It looked more like she wanted to say no than she was in shock.
David and Ashley were my two least favorite cast members. They just didn't seem like nice people.
