'Supernatural's' Misha Collins stars in 'Divine': Keeping it creepy in new web series
As the angel Castiel on "Supernatural," Misha Collins deals with themes of religion, damnation, and just plain gore on a daily basis. This summer, he sticks with what's familiar in a new web series, "Divine," produced by Vancouver-baed Maple Blood Productions.
Collins serves as co-creator and producer, and stars in the recurring role of Father Christopher. He's working alongside Ivan Hayden, "Supernatural's" visual effects supervisor.
In the leading role of Father Andrew is Ben Hollingsworth, a Canadian actor who played Chris Andrews on the short-lived CW Series "The Beautiful Life: TBL."
Andrew is a young priest whose faith is tested when an immortal creature named Divine is resurrected before his eyes. Divine is played by Dan Payne, who has previously had bit parts on "Smallville" and in the "Stargate" franchise.
"Given sanctuary by the church, Divine leads a never-ending crusade to show lost souls they have the power to choose their destiny between good and evil. With guidance from the priest's mentor and Divine's street-smart sidekick, the Father must now confront his own demons and the dark forces that challenge Divine," reads the description on the official site, teasing "surprises that await" the viewer.
"Divine" is set to debut in mid-summer. Check out the teaser trailer below -- we dare say it's even spookier than "Supernatural."

Zap2it Elite Sheet Must Reads from the Web's In-Crowd

Jeesh, Carina - "just plane gore" - really? It's PLAIN, as in ordinary, not plane as in aircraft. How long could it take to proofread an article that short? Wouldn't it be worth it to take those 30 seconds to re-read it than to post it with such an error and look like a big moron?
Thanks for the polite head's up, Chris! That's what I get for posting via iPad.
WOW! that is one show I will for sure be watching this summer. Misha is such a great actor and more.
Lol "polite." Carina, your sarcasm is dripping. Way to be a troll Chris.
Hey, Carina, does it mean that Misha will be returning to Supernatural since this is just a "summer job" for him? There have been rumors going around that he's leaving the show...
Well, we will all know by tomorrow if Mish-mish is leaving SPN. I for one hope not, because the Boys need a friend desperately, and they have already lost so much. But I know there are many out there who consider the angel an interloper in the Sam/Dean equasion. For those of you who feel that way, think of this: Dramatically, the show works better with Castiel. Of course, with Sera Gamble in charge, who knows? The best dramatic descisions have not been made all of season six...
Wow Chris, u don't have to be so rude! You've never made a mistake, have you?... pointing out peoples' mistakes like that show that you seem to have little class. I bet you were the school bully. Next time, try emailing a private message to the person you feel the need to show your superiority to! You ruined my SPN reading this evening! Thanks.
This will serve almost as well as the Castiel spinoff series I've been wanting.
I agree with Chris. If it was infrequent, I wouldn't have a beef with it. However, Zap2it writers misuse and mistype words frequently. It's very distracting. If your SPN reading is so easily ruined, I advise skipping the Comments section as you sound too fragile to handle opinions that differ from yours.
Can't wait!
