'Saturday Night Live' afterthoughts: Justin Timberlake gets a hand from Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper
"Saturday Night Live" ended its 36th season a high-note with the May 21 finale. Buoyed by a solid digital short, Justin Timberlake continued his streak of hosting successes, with help from well-used musical guest Lady Gaga and even Bradley Cooper. There were a few misses -- we really don't need to keep revisiting the idea of "Omeletteville" -- and the much of the regular cast took a backseat to the newcomers, but all in all, it topped recent episodes from Tina Fey and Ed Holmes. (For those interested in ratings, "SNL" also gave its strongest numbers in 7 season finales, delivering a preliminary 4.5 the adults 18-49 demographic.)
Bill Hader's "Stefon" stopped by all too briefly at the end of Weekend Update, which also included a cameo for Bradley Cooper in the painfully funny recurring "Get in the Cage." Andy Samberg's Nicholas Cage is welcome to come back next season.
Our favorite had to be celebrity edition of "What's That Name?" -- which saw Gaga recalling the name of an obscure friend and Timberlake failing to recognize a woman he slept with two weeks ago... or 'N Sync bandmate Chris Kirkpatrick. Poor guy.

ed helmes you idiot.
ed helms, you idiot.
Didnt need the two Wigg recurring characters on annoyingly repetitive sketches, but the JT centric ones, backed by a surprisingly funny Lady Gaga, made this one of the best eps this year.
I thought the repeats of the Ville and Barry Gibb skits were two of the funniest along with Whats My Name. So as far as I'm concerned they can keep those skits and do them again. lol Timber/Gaga did a great job last night. Best episode this season. Too bad Justin couldn't be a regular. They still need some new writers though.

This season finale was by far the funniest and most entertaining of the entire season. Justin Timberlake is one of the most versatile performers ever. And Lady Gaga had great comedic timing. She should host next season. Excellent.
I wonder when they will put out an SNL DVD "Best of Justin Timberlake". Seriously it should happen soon, because people are going to buy it and it is going to be nonstop laughter!
It's Ed Helms idiot.
JT and LG closing out the season for SNL with no "The Voice" sketch? If there was plans for a sketch on "The Voice" it was cut for time. I guess that NBC didn't want SNL to spoof "The Voice". A new season SNL will be on September 24 or October 1. I hope they can get Mila Kunis to host the season premier.
This has been one of the best SNLs in a long time. I think it was a good thing that Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader weren't in EVERY skit, Wiig has her high points but sometimes, she is just too much...to the point it's no longer funny... or ever funny.
