'Rolling in the Deep' lyrics not censored on 'Glee': Did Jonathan Groff drop the S-bomb?
Did we just hear what we think we just heard? When Jesse St. James (Jonathan Groff) and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) performed Adele's song "Rolling in the Deep" tonight on the highly anticipated prom episode of "Glee," we're pretty sure that a certain curse word wasn't cut out.Meanwhile, on "Dancing With the Stars," Adele performed the hit -- and she did censor it to keep it prime-time friendly.
The line in question in Adele's original version is "Finally, I can see you crystal clear. Go ahead and sell me out and a I'll lay your s*** bare." If we're not mistaken, that's what we heard on the air.
Perhaps they replaced it with "shift" or "ship" or something equally nonsensical, and we just can't tell the difference? Listen to the clip below and tell us what you think. Is it what we think it is?
While you're at it, weigh in on the episode. Did Groff deliver as Jesse or are you hoping he gets out of the way quickly to make room for Finchel?

I'm pretty sure I heard "****" too.
He totally said sh*t!
It did sound like it, but I've had the Glee version on my iPod for a few days now & I'm pretty sure it's changed to 'ship'.
Loved the episode. So glad Groff is back, he needs to stay forever. St. Berry is 1000x better than Finchel - they are just so suited to each other. Throughout this second half of S2 I've grown to despise Finn more and more each week.
Solid episode. Eric Stoltz has become my favorite guest director on Glee for sure. His third outting this season and they were all among the seasons best eps. Now if only they would bring in some guest writers maybe we could see some of the shows potential not wasted week after week.
ship
No It just said ship.
It def. was sh*t!!
I close capped it and its ship.
It was "ship."
If you read the lyrics of Adele's as well as John Legend's you will see that it's Ship.
TV can't be that stupid to where they let sh*t slide. But i could be wrong lol.
Every lyrics site I've seen has the word as sh**... It makes sense that it makes sense, as no one "lays one's ship bare"... I imagine that they close capped it as ship for the censors, though
