'Real Housewives of NJ's' Melissa Gorga on reconciling with Teresa: 'It's not happening'

After last week's blowup at the christening in the premiere episode, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" fans got a taste of the drama to come.

Zap2it has already spoken to new housewife Melissa Gorga about the details surrounding her joining the show and how she felt about her son's christening being ruined, but we still have a whole season ahead of us.

In this part of our interview, we speak to her about the chances of reconciliation this season and what we can expect as the season unfolds.

Teresa has had a rough year. Did you reach out to her when all that bankruptcy stuff was going down?
Um, yes, actually I did. I did call her a couple times, but she was always in denial and didn't want to talk about it. And you know the relationship I have with her I didn't want to throw it in her face. I didn't want to call too much and too often, because there was a new story every single day. You know, her husband's going to jail, her husband's doing fraud, and I was like, 'What am I going to do? Call every time I see something in the paper?'

The relationship we had at the time she would have just thought I was throwing it in her face. So, I did reach out to her and then I began to text her and say 'If you need anything.' And the truth is if she truly did need anything, my husband would give her anything she needed. It was one of those things. You know, if Teresa has a headache, she'll tell you she doesn't have a headache. It's kind of hard to talk to her. She doesn't confide in us. She doesn't confide in her family. We had to find out in the papers. She never even told us what was going on in her life, so we had no idea.

In the premiere, Teresa says she was happy when you married her brother and wanted a relationship, but you acted cold with her. Is that true?
No. I have both sisters down The Shore and she was going to be the only sister that I had. And I really did want a relationship with her. And I feel we did try in the beginning. And she did try. But little by little, the things she would say, the way that she was was very different from the way that I was and we started to bump heads. And as Joey and I started to become more successful, I think she started to change and her personality toward me started to change. And she looked at me as a competitor instead of a sister-in-law and that's when things just started to go downhill and all of that was just bizarre to me, because I have none of that going on in my family. And I have two older sisters and cousins everywhere, so I'm not used to that.

It took me for a loop. And every time she spoke my jaw would drop. I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of her mouth. So, it's kind of hard for me. It was a really hard time. I think we've all come to a place now where we've accepted it. It's not happening. It's just never going to happen, so we just kind of gave up. But, you will start to see us try to mend fences and try to fix it.

What can we expect of you this season?
You're going to see a lot of my interaction with my husband. He's hysterical I have to say. He and I together are a power couple and we're great and we really compliment each other well throughout the whole season. So, you're going to see a lot of me and my husband. A lot of me being a little bit of everything where I cook, I clean and now I'm going on this journey to be a singer. And I have incredible producers who have  worked with Britney Spears and Beyonce coming into my home and I sing next to a piano a capella. And you're going to see my journey all the way up to my first performance, to my first live singing performance. So, it's an amazing journey you're going to take with me on the whole ride of my music career.

"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.

Looks like Melissa is a competitor; I don't believe her or Theresa for one moment. Sh.. stirrers living in McMansions. UGH

I don't believe Melissa either. Yesterday was actually the first time that I watched the show and it appeared that Melissa And her sisters were the troublemakers. They were nit-picking everything that Teresa did -- why is she late, why couldn't her daughter stop gymnastics so she could be there? Why are they holding my son on the dance floor? Really? . . and then when she comes over to be polite, her brother snapped on her like she was a piece of used toilet paper, and the evil sister's in law and brother in law appeared to be leachy and were egging this whole drama on. If Joe saw someone talking to prissy Melissa that way he would have snapped off like Teresa's husband did. Melissa appears to be a troublemaker from this episode that I saw.

I've got news for Melissa....we don't watch RHNJ to watch her mediocre career take off. We watch for the drama. And from what I've seen so far I'm Team Theresa.

Melissa and sisters, Kim G & the cousin of Teresa are all trouble makers. Kim G is a snake (again). Seems as if Joe and Melissa want to be the stars of the show.

Melissa and Joe are a "power couple"? Are you serious?

They look like a D-list Napoleon and Josephine in their overdone New Jersey interpretation of Versailles. The man looks like he's 5 feet tall..

Melissa, her mean sisters and that witchy Kathy were the ones that created the drama at the christening. Melissa's husband was very drunk and his behavior created an unsafe environment for the children present. Considering all the Jesus talk, her behavior was not in the least Christian.

Melissa, you look beautiful in the blue dress at the top. After reading the comments posted here, looks like the way they speak of you, is exactly WHO THEY ARE. What nasty byches. Keep your head up Ms Gorga, you have fans, just know that.

Melissa is just a fame *****, and gold digger. Her family including her sisters husband all smell Joe's money, and if he doesn't see that, he's an idiot, because it obvious.

SHE is the problem, not Teresa.

Melissa and Joe are creepy. Who would hold a Christening and keep mentioning Jesus... and then help to create chaos and danger in front of little children? From what I've seem that Melissa is not a good woman, hope I'm wrong. The other one, the cousin, is a total baddie s**t stirrer. The two new ladies make a nasty pair.

Team Teresa! Melissa and Joe "a power couple" well Melissa thinks so and as long as Melissa keeps bad mouthing Teresa there is no chance of reconciliation between Teresa and her brother and Melissa knows that! I feel for the children.

I don't think Melissa is that bad. We don't know what has happened in the years prior to now.I didn't even know Teresa had a brother prior to this season which is a little offsetting to me. Not one time did she mention her brother. If Teresa was not going to be welcomed at the christening she shouldn't of been invited. Brothers and sisters should not be fighting especially when you reach certain ages. Both of the Joe's need anger management.
