'Real Housewives of New York': Who died and made Sonja Morgan queen?
Something's going down on "The Real Housewives of New York City" and it's certainly not Sonja Morgan's nose. Ever since this season began it's been so high up in the air, we're not surprised she doesn't realize her dresses are too short for her advanced age.
In this episode, Sonja did the big "I'm here and you're here" speech to new housewife, Cindy Barshop, with every intention of putting her in her place. "Real Housewives" fans remember that speech that Kelly Killoren Bensimon delivered in her first season on the show to Bethenny Frankel. It was one of the earliest signs that Kelly wasn't 100% with us and it followed her throughout the season, though she never seemed to remember exactly how it all went down. Pecking order, Sonja? Someone forgot she was last season's new girl.
Before that incident, Sonja elected herself the job as ambassador during a lunch meeting between Kelly and Ramona Singer. She sat there as if she were the arbiter of all things rational. In actuality, she really had nothing to do with the fact that the Ramona-coaster was in neutral and she had already decided to issue an apology. Nevertheless, Sonja patted herself on the back for brokering peace.
On "Watch What Happens Live," Kelly Ripa very astutely pointed out that she felt Sonja had changed her attitude this season in order to get more air time. We're inclined to agree. We think she saw how much the cameras and the audience latched on to the Bethenny/Jill Zarin circus, then Bethenny's success afterward (oven toaster cookbook, anyone?) and decided that was how she'd conduct herself this year. She would concoct as many different ways to combine housewives for maximum conflict potential with herself in the middle of the action.
Well, Miss Morgan, we're on to you.

The show did not even seem real until Jill showed up during the second half. The Bethenny-bots have villianized her, but she is one of the few real people left on these shows.
I cringed watching Jill apologize to that piece of dead rubber, Alex Mccord.
Both Ramona and Bethenny made so many snide and derogatory comments about her and Simon over the seasons, much more than Jill ever did. If anyone assassinated her husbands character, it was Ramona.
If Alex and Simon have lost their "livelihoods" they can blame themselves and their own ridiculously pretentious behavior. What talents do these people have, aside from making ***** of themselves in public?
Alex is such a total phony, so average, and a humorless bore.
I don't know if I'm going to continue to watch this show.
IT'S A GREAT TITLE! I DON'T THINK ANYONE KNOWS FOR SURE, BUT I AGREE WITH WHAT'S WRITTEN HERE. PERHAPS SONJA SAW THAT THIS NEW ATTITUDE/STANCE SHE TAKES WILL GET HER MORE AIR TIME...BUT SHE'S MAKING ME SICK!

SONJA ACTUALLY SAID, "PECKING ORDER!" I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EARS! SHE REALLY HAS CHANGED AND I DON'T CARE WHO SHE'S PRETENDING TO BE, OR IF THIS IS THE REAL SONJA. SHE'S A SNOB AND A KNOW IT ALL WHO TALKS OVER EVERYONE AND HER OPINION IS THE ONLY ONE THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED. SHE'S BEEN RUDE TO JUST ABOUT EVERYONE, ESP CINDY!
RAMONA IS OFF IN HER PINOT GRIGIO WORLD, WHERE I DON'T THINK WE SHOULD EVEN ENCOURAGE THOSE JOKES ANY LONGER. SHE'S SERIOUSLY GOT ISSUES WITH ALCOHOL IF SHE CAN'T COME TO A PARTY AND DEMAND THEY HAVE HER DRINK IN HAND UPON ARRIVAL! RAMONA DRINKS, THE THINKS....
THIS SHOW ISN'T THE SAME WITHOUT BETHENNY. BETHENNY EVER AFTER IS FUNNY, MAKES YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD. ALL THESE WOMEN DO IS ARGUE/BACK STAB AND TALK ABOUT ONE ANOTHER. I MISS RHWBH'S. THAT SHOW WAS FUN WITH SOME CLASS AND MUCH LESS BICKERING--FOR THE MOST PART. SO, WHO DID DIE AND MAKE SONJA QUEEN?????
What the hell happened to Sonja? She seemed like a nice person last season. Wrong!! What a narcissictic SNOB! Look in the mirror biotch, you are not gods gift to men! That artist that painted you is obviously not into you. He's using you!! But you're too into yourself to even notice. Cover up your *** and show some class.
Alex is so uncomfortable to watch this season. She's trying to be a fighter like the rest of them, but it doesn't work for her, because it's obviously not who she really is. She's making herself look ridiculous. She needs stop carrying on constantly to everyone and just realize all these women are truly awful, mean spirited people and stop trying to be like them. Just be yourself and roll with it and collect your paycheck for being on the show.
Razor-tongued Ramona clearly has a drinking problem. She's wasted at every social gathering. She's obviously a very good business woman and has a great husband, but learn how to have tact. Her highly offensive remarks she constantly makes overshadow that she obviously has many good qualities.
LuAnn, barf, get over yourself. You are not royalty. You're just a ginormous snob. Enough with the "darling" and the ettiquette advice. Everyone just rolls their eyes at you.
Jill at least is nicer this season. She;s trying, but obviously not perfect.
Kelly was either in a cocaine psychosis last year, or is totally bi-polar. Let's hope she's been getting professional help.
Watching these narcissitic, shallow, bitchy, overly confrontational women makes me appreciate my friends so much more.
I'm really disappointed w/Sonja this season. Last season she was my favorite, partly b/c she appeared to be the most authetic and definitely, the most mature. This season, she's been obnoxiously pretentions. The 'pecking order' conversation was literally disgusting. Seriously? You're a 48 year old woman; I'm 29 years old and even I am old enough to know better. There are people in this world dying.. fighting feverishly for their lives and you're arrogant enough to address a pecking order? I swear... the audacity. God forbid a decent person w/money actually exists. For the record and just so there's no room for confusion, none of you deserve any of what you have.. not w/those trivial and disgusting mentalities.
Sonja you were cool now you're a ***** and Alex sorry but **** the f up, you are so annoying. Ramona don't change and jill stop trying to be so nice. Kelly benison you're still a dumb airhead.
