Jennifer Lopez on return to 'American Idol': 'It's too early to tell'
Who knew being a judge on "American Idol" would be the best thing to ever happen to Jennifer Lopez? Or her career, at least.Since joining the FOX reality show eight months ago, Lopez has enjoyed a career resurgence -- her latest album "Love?" sold well, her single "On The Floor" hit No. 1 on iTunes in 18 countries and People magazine named her The Most Beautiful Woman in the World.
So it should seem like a no-brainer that Lopez will return for Season 11, right? Wrong. Lopez has yet to sign on for next season and tells FOX411, "It's too early to tell." The 41-year-old is said to be in contract negotiations with FOX.
Steven Tyler will definitely be returning (alongside original judge Randy Jackson) for Season 11 as he signed a multi-year contract, which earned him a reported $18 million for Season 10 alone. Lopez reportedly signed for $12 million.
Earlier this week, FOX chief Peter Rice said, "Everyone has multiple-year contracts. Jennifer has [a] single-year contract. We loved having her -- the hope and expectation is she'll return."

They really need to overhaul the judges. Tyler is very talented and seems like a nice guy, but he needs to be more critical. It doesn't help the kids when he sugarcoats his critiques. Randy is too inconsistent - "too original", "not original enough", etc. Time for a change there. JLo wasn't bad, but when she wanted to save fellow Latina Karen Rodriguez very early in the competition, she lost me.
I think Jennifer should be repleaced with someone like Sarah Silverman or
Jack Black.
Well i never watched Idol until Jenifer was on board. If she dosent re-sign, either will i.@shawn ryan. i watched since the beginning, and disagree with you about karen. I dont jlo randy or steve showed any favoritism. I think its in yr imagination
I love this season's panel of judges. I really hope that Jennifer Lopez returns. She was right on with her comments and was a welcome sight each night. Please return J-Lo.
After that Booty Quake she is worth every million she asks for.
Those careers are getting boring fore real! Since a few years stars and showbiz and life around are boring. Evertything's cold. It lacks heat!
