Hugh Grant vs. Ashton Kutcher: Who is your ideal Charlie Sheen replacement?

hugh-kutcher-charlie.jpgWarner Bros. has officially confirmed Ashton Kutcher's new role as one of "Two and a Half Men," after a flurry of rumors and speculation about the Charlie Sheen replacement process. Before Kutcher's deal was done, the frontrunner for Sheen duty appeared to be Hugh Grant.

Though Grant was deep into his final negotiations for the role, he ultimately bowed out over "creative differences." We're not sure if the character designed for Grant is the same as the Kutcher will play - they don't exactly fit the same type - but it poses an interesting question.

Which actor would you rather see on the weekly sitcom? Are you pleased that Kutcher is returning to his television roots or are you disappointed that we won't be seeing Grant on his first American TV gig?

Weigh in below in our poll, then drop us a comment about your likelihood to tune into "Two and a Half Men" next season. Are you going to turn away from the show now that Sheen has been ousted, or will curiosity make you tune in for Kutcher's debut?

Honestly I dont think Hugh would have been a good fit. This show isnt about acting its about being funny. Kutcher was funny on tv *not movies* so I think its a better fit. Of course I would rather have charlies crazy butt but he blew that.

I stopped watching 2 1/2 Men years ago.
I might have given it another shot if Hugh Grant had been cast and allowed to keep his accent. He is one caustically witty Englishman!

To Smitty: I think Grant is a hell of a lot funnier than Kutcher could ever hope to be.

Never enjoyed Two and a Half Men as it doesn't appeal to me and I really have never liked Charlie Sheen. Now that Ashton Kutcher is on board I will definitaly give it a shot! I think he is a charasmatic, entertaining person. Still not a big fan of the shows concept but things may change next season so I will tune in with the hopes that it does better then it did with the "winner"......LOSER

Kutcher should totally play a grown up Kelso. Instead of drinking in every episode, he should smoke pot, etc. He should also yell out "BURRRRNN!" as a throw back to us 70s Show fans.

Hugh Grant makes "cute" faces at the camera - its rather tired for someone that long in the tooth. His career will be over with a bad Botox application.

Cancel the whole show outright. It's old and tired.

I think they are going in a different direction with Ashton Kutcher, which might revitalize the show (although it's still ratings wise one of the top shows on the tube... Sorry Kate, cancelling it was probably never seriously considered).

But, I think Hugh Grant would have been playing more like a Sheen type character, and he's one of my favorite actors, so I would have been happy either way they chose to go.

As long as Kutcher isn't playing Kelso again, I am sure he will be fine.

However, I am on Team Hugh.

There's absolutely no way I'll watch the show with Kutcher on it. It was a maybe without Sheen, but it's a no with Kutcher.
