'House': Lisa Edelstein not returning for Season 8
Take a deep breath, Huddy shippers. Life will go on. It gets better.TVLine dropped a bombshell on the "House" fanbase on Tuesday, May 17, when Michael Ausiello reported Lisa Edelstein has decided not to return for the show's eighth season. Edelstein's long-term contract expires this month.
In an interview with TVLine back in March, Edelstein expressed her hope for the show to return for Season 8, saying, "Nobody at work seems to think it won't [return]. Everybody wants to come to a deal and I certainly am looking forward to a Season 8." Guess someone had a change of heart?
Season 8 is likely to be "House's" final season. Hugh Laurie, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson are contracted for Season 8. Robert Sean Leonard and Omar Epps are also set to return. Jesse Spencer has yet to ink a deal.

This is the last straw. Jennifer Morrison gone, now Lisa Edelstein? In what world is the rest of the supporting cast more important?
Cuddy was never right for House her character was so unnecessary. House had better chemistry with the male characters. I hope Jennifer Morrison will return next season I loved her dynamic with House.
This show has gone down hill - so unbelievabe now. Would anyone , anywhere bring a prostitute to work and then get away with it? Give me a break. Lisa's smart - her character should have fired House on the spot. How can you play someone who makes no sence?
Just because she isnt a regular doesnt mean she wont be back at all.
I've been really surprised to read the recent reports that this show is winding down. I know that every year a show gets more expensive so when ratings start to trend down it's hard to justify keeping it. Still, I feel like there is still new ground to cover. I'm not tired of the show.
Having said that, Cuddy is a major character in House's life. We don't need to see her every week but I don't know how she can disappear. It's not like Jennifer Morrison, who was easily replaced. I'd much rather Wilson move on.
Maybe they can get her back for a couple of eps, like towards the finale.
I think they have played out the Huddy relationship and there isn't much left.
That being said, it is difficult to end the show next season without some kind of happy ending for House and I thought that would be with Cuddy.
Wow Cuddy's face looks like a Botched Abortion..this should make her very happy given PP and her eugenecist leanings..
I'm guessing next season will be the last, shame she couldn't hold on to one more year to finish up the show.
