'Gossip Girl' Season 5: Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr not returning
"Gossip Girl" will be down two Brooklyn babes come Season 5.Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr will not be turning to the the CW drama as series regulars next season, TVLine reports. Momsen and Szohr, who play troublemakers Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams, have been invited back on a guest star basis.
"Gossip Girl" newbie Kaylee DeFer, who plays Serena's mysterious cousin Charlie, will return in Season 5 and has been promoted to series regular. Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford are all set to return.
Fans of the show probably aren't too shocked by the news of Momsen and Szohr's exit. Momsen -- who is focusing on her music career -- has had a scarce presence in Season 4, only appearing in a few episodes, while Szohr's character Vanessa seems to have creatively flat-lined.
In the May 2 episode, "The Princesses and The Frog," Vanessa revealed she was leaving the UES at the end of the semester to study abroad.

i'm now officially done with GG , i can't imagine a show where there is Nate/Chace Crawford , but not Jenny/Taylor momsen.Writers are really stupid.bahhhhh gossip girl has become really a crap!
@gio88 I dont think the writers wanted Jenny/Taylor to leave, I think it was her choice to focus on her music.
At least finish there storylines on a positive note or something.

i've been pretty much done with gossip girl since they all went to college. i wish they could all somehow be back in high school. i would miss jenny's character. but good riddance to vanessa. there was never a point for her to be in the storylines, she was just irritating. i miss the good old days of blair in constance. they need to bring back Nelly Yuki for a guest arc or something. her storyline clashing with blair was fun. i don't want her to be the minion..i want her to have a full head on thing with blair like the SAT episode. that was funny. thank god blair will never leave!!

Why couldn't they of promoted Eric or Darota to regular not Cuckoo Charlie.
Charlie sucks, the actress CANNOT act at all.
I Hope Vanessa coems back. I really like her. It just too bad she hasn't had an interesting storyline.
