Disney's 'Lemonade Mouth' the sequel? Cast says 'It's all up to the fans'
The cast/rockers of The Disney Channel original film "Lemonade Mouth" are basking in the wild success of not only the movie, but the music itself. Since the movie's April 15th release on The Disney Channel, the film has become cable's No. 1 original movie of 2011 and has reached over 20 million total viewers. The soundtrack recently hit No. 1 on iTunes and No. 4 on the Billboard 200 top album chart, ranking right up there with Adele, "Glee" and Foo Fighters. Not bad company to be in.
Zap2it spoke with the cast of "Lemonade Mouth" including Bridgit Mendler, Adam Hicks, Hayley Kiyoko, Blake Michael, Nick Roux and Chris Brochu, as they prepared to meet with fans and sign some autographs at Downtown Disney Event on Monday (May 2).
So with the roaring success of what we hope becomes a franchise for the Mouse House, is there a sequel in the works?
Among a chorus of "Hopefully!" "We hope so!" and "Fingers crossed!" responses, Michael says "It's all up to the fans, it's in their hands. If people enjoy it and they love it and they want more, they'll get it."
When asked if Disney might be ready to green light the project, Michael continues, "I think Disney is just a great organization in general and they're always one step ahead of the game. So you never really know what's gonna happen."
Personally, we'd love to see these kids hit the road for some live performances. Apparently, they share the same sentiment.
"We would love to do that," Mendler gushes. "We performed for the first time live on 'Good Morning America' as a group and it was a blast!"

"Lemonade Mouth" was actually one of the best Disney Channel movies I've seen in a while. It reminded me of the movies they used to make several years ago in house. Those were better than some of what they put on now. I'd definetly vote for a sequel, but it'd have to be a great story.

OMG, my 24 year old sister comes to me and shes like have you heard of the movie lemonade mouth and im like no, so she shows me the song determinate on itunes and I fell in love with it! I had to go find the movie on comcast to tape it and it just so happened to be on ABC family and I lOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT! Its such a good movie and their songs are like amazing!!! I would love loveeee to see the sequeal to the movie and I would totally go see them in concert if they got even bigger!!
I will turn 20 this month and I love this movie. I think it is the best movie Disney Channel has made. I really think they should make another one.
I loved the film and have told all of my friends about it. I actually think it's better than "High School Musical." The music is great and I sing to all the songs on my iPod. And I've ordered the DVD too. Please go on tour! And please make a sequel. I want to find out what happens next!

I am 39 and watched Lemonade Mouth with my 5 year old. We loved it! Would definitely go see them in concert and would love to see a sequel! Like posted above, think a sequel should revolve around the bullying issue since there is so much of it going on nowdays...keep the movie real with being focused on issues that today's kids are going through and how real life kids can keep a positive spin on their life when dealing with these types of issues!
